Best Rainy Day Movie?? — Brooklynian

Best Rainy Day Movie??

Well, is it an early Hitchcock or a late Cary Grant movie? Bela Tarr, Wim Wenders, Lynch Joel Madden or Spielberg? What is the all time greates rainy day movie to rent? Halloween movies definitely acceptable. Oh I should mention I feel like I have H1N1 and have been in my bed for two days straight and am bored out of my skull.

:pukel:

My fave thus far for today, Topkapi by Hitchcock! But what film is the best rainy day film ever?

  • I'm thinking "The Godfather: Part II." Or, if you're feeling particularly delirious, "Children of Paradise". Or "Giulietta degli Spiriti" - Fellini's always awesome when you're out of your mind. Even "La Strada" or "Americord".

DH recommends "Once Upon a Time in America". And Bertolucci's "1900".

Nothing beats "Independence Day" for sheer everything - it makes you remember 60 other movies.
  • Also, "Angels in America" is on HBO on Demand. Is good.

    I could keep going....
  • The City of Lost Children

The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover

    Blade Runner

    Black Rain

    The Fall

    Love Liza

    Tokyo!

    The Science of Sleep
  • I like scary movies on a rainy dark dreary day so I vote for the original Halloween followed by Nightmare on Elm St and ending with Jeepers Creepers.
  • Barry Lyndon by Kubrick
  • the terror in tiny town, an all midget western
  • I love Film Noir on a dark, rainy day. Double Indemnity, The Third Man, Touch Of Evil, The Big Clock, The Big Sleep...
  • The Fifth Element, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Anything by James Whale, Blade Runner....
  • mega shark vs giant octopus
