It is a terrible tragedy to lose a child, especially one so young....but, he took his parents suv, without permission, he was under age and unlicensed, plus it was raining very heavy. Unfortunately he paid the ultimate price

.....Watch your children...keep them close.....one mistake and it could be
    all over
No matter the circumstances.....it's still a tragedy.

As a parent u do the best u can and u tell them and guide them and they do stupid things.
You do the best u can as a parent.
    Same thing with drinking....
You can talk until u are blue in the face and they say they hear ya but do they ???
I think they do but they never think it is going to happen to them.
That is why everyday I put angels all around my boys!!!!
    God help those poor parents.....

    HEY LET'S LAFF A LITTLE

A professor at the University of West Virginia was giving a lecture on the supernatural. To get a feel for his audience, he asks: "How many people here believe in ghosts?"

About 90 students raise their hands.

    "Well, that's a good start.

"Out of those of you who believe in ghosts, do any of you think you have seen a ghost?"

About 40 students raise their hands.

"That's really good. I'm really glad you take this seriously.

"Has anyone here ever talked to a ghost?"

About 15 students raise their hand.

"Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?"

    Three students=2 0raise their hands.

"That's fantastic. Now let me ask you one question further.

"Have any of you ever made love to a ghost?"

Way in the back, Bubba raises his hand.

The professor takes off his glasses and says: "Son, all the
years I've been giving this lecture no one has ever claimed
to have made love to a ghost. You've got to come up here
and tell us about your experience."

The big redneck student replied with a nod and a grin, and
began20to make his way up to the podium.

When he reached the front of the room, the professor
Asks: "So, Bubba, tell us what it's like to have sex with
    0Aa ghost."

Bubba replied: "Shiiiit!! From way back there I thought you
    said "Goats"

    LATER GATERS

    ENJOY YOUR EVENING

I think it would be great to share things like this on the blog but in a seperate area. Not to take anything away from this blog but to add to it. I'm sure most everybody here has a favorite dish or two or three...lol... they wouldnt mind sharing. I know I would love to have some of these recipes.

I'd love that recipe.....can you email it to me?? Or just come here and make it??? lol If you go to the top or bottom of this page you will see a link to 'Brooklyn Back When', click that link and it will take you to a main kinda page. On that page you will see a topic 'RECIPE' no S 'cause there is only one LONELY recipe there. Please check it out and add any recipes ya like. Again...it's not in place of this blog...it's in addition to.

  • ok...I went to Publix to see about the broccoli rabe and they dont carry it. There is another place not far from here that should have it. I did find escarrole tho and remember my dad makin it with some kinda beans. I know I can look this up on the internet but I also know there is a wealth of info right here. Thanks for the broccoli rabe recipe Festina ANGELINA. I will make it with the sausage(u and Jeanette can say it the other way...lol) once I find it and have some bread from Publix for dippin.
  • Try not to give away all the old family and
neighborhood recipe's on here. LOL .We once
discussed putting a cook book of these
recipe's togethor and I still think its a great
idea, especially if the proceeds were donated
to a charity or The American Cancer Society.
I'm not under estimating the amount of work it
would take, just some FOOD for thought.
Maybe a few old photo's of the neighborhood or
some pic's of the original recipe owners, Mom,
Dad, Grandma etc. Even some new/old recipe's
and photo's from some of us, LOL.
  • Anthony ....or Terry .....I have a question my sister is sick to her stomach ....
thinking this is a girlfriend of hers from Jay that lived
in Sunset Park ....her name is Lorena and Sandy Ray's Son?

Anthony I tried to call you but it disconnects....
  • OK, I either say nothing.. or say too much, LOL

    Goodnight everyone
  • Hi Paul and Anthony .......

Yeah ...just giving my sister some bad news ...
this was her girlfriends Son ....she said what a
beautiful person she is .....and now she has to
    bury her son .....so sad!

    Have a goodnight guys

When I first read this I must admit it annoyed me. To think that a big deal would be made over sharing some simple recipes. But, it IS a big deal Paul, and you are right. If there was to be any money made off of something like this it should go to a charity. There are probably people reading along waiting for a chance to get hold of some REAL old neighborhood recipes. I'm going to print that broccoli rabe recipe. the only other recipe I would like to have is the escarrole and beans one...sooooo...if someone has one and doesnt mind shring it with ME...please send it to me in a P.M. My taste buds and I would greatly appreciate it.
  • Paul...u said a mouthful of some great stuff there...thanks.
