stopped by the coffee house. the staff is really pleasant and they have some really nice graffiti/art pieces. the coffee and fresh bread are delicious as well. although a little small, it is a nice place to study. Although fisher said Im not welcome in his store, i walked by and it did look nice inside. I also appreciate his "Brooklyn only" business ethic. they coffee shops have very different vibes, but i wish them both well.

Did Tony get banished from the message boards?
-
mod note: not that i'm aware of. likely he's busy with the shop.
-
Like SweetT said, not everyone is obsessed with Brooklynian; checking posts daily and general OCD-ness :P

visited the coffee house yesterday..had a really nice americano (w/ the fancy schmancy milk and cane sugar) and a BANGING cranberry scone..the music was cool (not too loud) and the woman behind the counter was really friendly.
i'll be back

No- - talked to him about that the other day. He chose to delete his account. -

Who is Jeremy?

went this morning to give it a try. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't like the fact that they pour the milk for you. I find that too many times the coffee person puts too much or too little in there. Why not leave it out so people can help themselves?
The pastries and bagels looked great. but the coffee, IMO was sub-par. It was more acidic than better coffee and had that slightly burned almost Starbucks quality to it.
The interiors were ok, but IMO completely ruined by putting a TV in there. WTF? Why do I want to look at a goofy/cheesy morning news show when I'm trying to deal with the morning? Just a pet peeve, but a real downer.
I'll be back for the bagels pastries though and will give the coffee another shot. But it has to improve. -

The subject of a Pearl Jam song works for a coffee house? -

i agree -- especially since they touted having all these vegan options, yet they just say "milk?" and you say yes or no and they put it in. at least that's how it was the 2 times i went so far. why can't i do it myself? -

Maybe its like NJ. ...where you can't pump your own gas. -
I gave this place a couple of tries and the result for me is - great food, not so great coffee. I asked for regular coffee around 8am Thursday and it tasted a little old, which is weird for a coffee shop in the morning I think. The previous try yielded similar results, I don't know, maybe I just don't like their coffee?
I would go in just for a pastry though, if I was in the mood to eat one without a coffee, but I don't know how often that's gonna happen.
The women behind the counter was really lovely though, so that was nice! -
nice place, enh coffee is also the word from the gf, who dropped by the other morning.
stumptown beans are good, so her feeling is that they need to figure out a better way to brew them -- don't you have to audition (or some asinine thing) to even serve stumptown? i'm surprised this is an issue.
hoping that the owners notice these posts and address the issue -- it's great having early morning options so close to us! -
same here - i posted my review on supervegan. coffee was not done well and the space is a little awkward but cute. the people are really great and i like that they offer sweets i can eat (though it was a small variety...). so i would go back if a friend wanted to meet in the neighborhood but i wouldn't go back for the coffee (and that is kind of the driving force of going to a coffee shop). appreciate the hazelnut milk. Fix the coffee (I think variety in willbg does stumptown and does it well) and maybe put a little stuff on the walls in the back? mirrors to make it look wider/bigger?

stopped by the pulp and bean today. the bagels were tasty and the coffee was good (as good as breukeln imho) but they dont let you pour your own milk either...

Zombie thread.
Since they opened a few years ago, they have thrived, and now serve beer and wine, as well as host events.
There is an event tonight:

Howdy, Stranger!
