  • Heeheeheeheee! He bought me my second (and last) glass of wine. Guess Flexi doesn't want to be invited to the wedding.

although I am sure there will be dancing on the bar (sans panties) and hilarious stories of masturbation, I will let others fill me in on what I missed.
  • The sunset is absolutely gorgeous right now! Tangerine and Red colors so beautiful!
  • Rant: the rain started early than I expected (boo weather.com) which meant no morning stroll in the park with the dog that doesn't like to get wet.
  • Rant: Filling my time by making all kinds of wood stuff for people, has caused my electric bill to to be $40 higher than it was in prior months.

Rave: I have also filled three Shop Vac bags with saw dust.
  • whynot, if the wood that the dust came from is untreated, our community garden would happily take it for compost -- assuming you don't have some other use for it.
  • I'll save the next bag for you.

...woodscraps are already used to start the mother in laws upstate wood stove.

Have a use for dog fur? maybe a hyper allergenic pillow?
Dude is presently shedding his summer coat.
  • Rant: a friend who just moved to the city was mugged this morning as she was going into the train station Bushwick.

Rave: no weapon and he only wanted her umbrella!

Dog fur (and human hair) can be composted, in theory. In practice, it's really gross to come across a giant ball of hair/fur in the compost pile...so thanks for the offer, but no thanks. We could definitely use your sawdust though. Hopefully its not a package deal!

Fear not. Mrs Whynot has banned me from using the "good vacuum" in the work room and the shop vac in the rest of the apartment.

Dude is weary of the work room because of the frequent noise, so it's practically furless.
  • Rave:

Scare Tactics marathon on Syfy till 10pm!!!!!! :bounce:
  • arches! i always forget that you are who you are! all compost issues now officially turfed to you :D

rave: sweet tea now done attempting to be a good garden-citizen (phew).
  • Rant: Must get out of the apt.

Rave: Boredom will be killed. I'm going to see either "Law Abiding Citizen" or "Saw IV" at 7 at the Pavilion. ....fellow board/bored people welcome to join me.
  • Rant: people refuse to listen to me when I tell them the Pavillion has bed bugs. Stop taking your life into your own hands people. Oh wait, it's whynot. You, you take your own life, but don't come to my wigs, wings and wines party on Saturday.
  • ^^^ I don't believe you... I think that even the bedbugs would know to avoid The Pavilion.
  • So basically you're saying whynot is worse than a bed bug? Heehee!
  • The bedbugs need to get out of the house less than whynot; therefore they are not at the Pavilion.
  • Given my long-standing battle with internet connectivity...

RAVE - I just downloaded a 120MB file from Adobe (Lightroom 3 Beta , free - check it out, photographers!) in a little more than 30 seconds.

Edited because, evidently, I can't easily remember the difference between RANT and RAVE.
  • ^dude, it took me an hour to watch a 20-minute show from netflix on demand wednesday night. i took a shower during one of the rebuffering breaks.

is there really nothing to be done?
  • ^^^ check out the sister site of Speedtest.net - Pingtest.net (there's a link on Speedtest). Your ping latency is horrendous - see if you're experiencing packet loss and whatnot, too. If so, you could see some benefit from some wiring troubleshooting... that being said, I really think that they have the "regular" servers over-committed in this area.

I think that, if several people were to cooperate, that you could make enough noise to get the issue addressed. What I would do is test and document the DL speeds several times over the course of an evening, as the off-peak hours transition in to the peak usage hours. I'm sure that you'll see a steady, predictable, STEEP dip from 5PM through 9PM. Have several people compile a few days worth of data and start giving hell.
  • rave: help in a confusing world

  • ^that's awesome, Sweat Tea. Very simply confirmed my atheist path
  • Rave - on the morning dog walk, a lil ol' lady cheerily told me that she "admired" my dog because my dog only does her business in the gutter, not on the sidewalk. I guess that people sometimes DO notice and appreciate small courtesies.
  • Rant: Mrs. Why lost her wallet.

Rave: Some guy Mack found her wallet, and returned it completely intact.

Rave: Diwali festival with about 40 for Mrs. Why's engineering co-workers tonight. Should be interesting....

    Yay! :)
  • Rave: well on my way to being thoroughly used up before I die.
  • Rave:

  • Happy Halloween Em!!

    Rave:

I will be getting a nice candy stash delivered this year as well.

  • Rant: chocolate is yucky
Rave: my teens made the yummiest caramel apples!
