Sometimes we would step on them in the shallow water. We were always afraid that the "Spear" that sticks out from them was going to pierce us and kill us. Of course the Camp Counselors would add to it by telling us weird stories (made up) about how many campers were "harpooned" by the Horshoe Crabs and were never heard from again. Good story with Halloween coming up!
