DannySanchez wrote: Wow Fes- too strange to be able to relate to all those memories, thanks so much.
lol! right?
somehow i can't see our kids lookin back on their childhood memories the way we do...
havin little sense of community camaraderie we share...
i think because some, as myself, raised them in the burbs instead of the city...
we wanted to shelter them from all the hard times in the slope, like the drug epidemic, which was good, and worked, but look wat they missed out on in the interim...
i think the best my kids will remember with affection, is me and my ex takin them to nellie bly, and the park on 65th street by zeke's greasy hamburger place...
...and maybe sellin lemonade on a city block where neighbors bought a cup more out of lov for them, than havin their thirst quenched by the drink itself..
it really was a unique experience, and i guess we were all blessed to share in it - the ones who survived it - at least...
and to the ones who didn't - they're as much a part of our memories and affections as the ones we hooked back up with today... -
Hellooooo!! Did the kids in NJ forget it was Halloween LOL LOL
Its 1:25 and I have not seen one kid yet, I even went to Shoprite food shopping and not one kid out on the streets.........guess they start a little later....being it was Saturday I thought they would be out early......
Just put a big pot of sauce on, my son from college is home again,..and I feel bad, when he comes home, which is not so often this year, I am never around, I told him I would cook a good meal for him.....so I decided to cook it today, never know what tomorrow brings.......
Well my oldest son laughed when I was making my little goodie bags for Halloween, since i moved here six years ago, I don't think many people even knew we existed, we are on a private street with just seven houses...but the last couple of years, we have been getting more and more kids, so this year I figured since it was on a Saturday, there should be lots of kids and I decided to make goodie bags, which I have not done in years....so my son bet me
$100.00 if I give out all the candy......and he made sure he mentioned and I don't mean giving ten bags to each kid...lol lol We will see......have fun!!!! -
ok on my end here, my munchkin's are goin to halloween parties instead of bell ringing today...
my michael (11) is going to be a "girl" lol! how brave!
my victoria (6) as nikki says, "a punky pirate thing." def suits her!
my olivia (4) a "cowgirl." she'll be lost under dat hat!
my christian (5) a "bakugan guy?" i'm out of the loop on dat one..lol
and my isabella grace (2) a "lady bug." ...and here's to good luck!
hav fun guys, luv grandma xxxxxxooooo
