My british wife is in the mood for authentic fish and chips...but is not impressed with the chip shop. Any recommendations?

Haven't tried their chips, but it's the only place I can think of locally. The fish shop on flatbush and bergen is NOT authentic, it's just fast food style.
  • OOh, there is a place in the city that is suppposed to be excellent, a friend of mine who is from England really liked it (she also was not impressed with The Chip Shop). Here it is:

  • My wife likes asultandbattery but we were hoping to find a place in bklyn. Ill check out the caroll gardens place. Thanks for your help
  • I don't know how authentic it is but Fish Camp on Fifth Ave. is pretty damn good with the fries and whole thing already.
  • Get-N-Git isn't British style. However, they do make excellent fried fish and hand cut (I saw them cut 'em) french fries. They're on Ralph Ave by St. Marks.
  • a friend once told me that the fish and chips at alchemy on 5th avenue are good.

i've never tried them, but i have been to eat at alchemy numerous times, and it's always been really good.

    here's their menu...
