rave review for lot 2 restaurant

huge rave for lot 2 which is a little off the beaten path down on 6th avenue at 19th street. i wanted to mention it so more people go check it out. the new lucali is opening across the street so soon this corner is going to have two really stand out restaurants.

the food at lot 2 is stellar. truly one of the best restaurants in the neighborhood, dare i say brooklyn. it was one of the better meals i've had in recent memory.

go give the place a shot...the menu is small but fantastic, the presentation of the food was excellent, and both the service and decor were well above average. we tried the arugala salad with beets, clams, the grass fed burger, the scallop dish, the homemade chocolate pudding and the cheese plate. everything we had was terrific. i find it really fairly priced too with a nice wine list and a few good beers.

i heartily recommend this place.

  • Thanks, belzjm - I keep meaning to check this out. I walked by it twice this weekend. Is Lucali going where the pale wood front covered in plastic is? That can't bode well for Toby's
  • yeah, that's the spot flexi. lucali is coming to the corner of 20th, i think it is....the southeast corner...?

the people at lot 2 said it was really close to opening...

definitely go check out lot 2. i think it's the best kept secret in park slope, at the moment. sometimes that's a good thing, but i want this place to flourish! it's too good to be down there half empty on a saturday night!
  • Yah, I think it is the SE corner for Lucali's. It was the only place under construction that I could imagine housing it.

It's odd that 2 whole pie places are going to be so close together - especially when there are so many crappy slice place. I'd kill for more decent slices around here.....
  • Belzjim - what did you order?
  • toadette - go back and read the first post, it's in there
  • No more posting after a long island iced tea, sorry!
  • Just reread my review from July. Now that the menu has changed I clearly need to go back. You had me at scallop.
  • I've eaten at Lot 2 several times, loved it, think everyone should go there, the owners are great, yada yada

But could I offer a teensy criticism?

I find the decor, or the almost total lack thereof, to be a tad depressing

Make a little more of an effort, guys!
  • Thanks for sharing... I'll check it out soon.

Also, Toadette... absolutely posting after long islands!
  • Aw, I just read the chef (who was awesome and talented) has left. I had an amazing meal there...hope it stays at the same quality level.
  • The Charcuterie plate is so delicious! So is the cheese and honey plate. I need to go back maybe this Saturday.
  • The eggplant, tomato, lardo crostino appetizer is AMAZING!!! My husband had a burger and it was really, really good. One of the best we've had in park slope. Really a gem of a place. Although when we went there we were the only ones there the whole time we ate! So, I hope the neighborhood can support it b/c it is the best restaurant south of 12th st. in the slope in my opinion..
