i LOVE this place! as a vegetarian, I usually understand that I will have to eat 2 rubbery fake hotdogs and pile on the mustard to enjoy it and be full. But not here -- 1 hotdog is super filling and so delicious!! The $15 all you can drink deal is even better now that they raised prices to $4 a pint rather than the original $3 -- but either way it's a good price for a good beer.

the food is AWESOME!!! what are disco fries?
-
disco fries:
"Originated in Canada but perfected in New Jersey this combination of brown gravy, mozzarella cheese and HOT crispy steak fries is the perfect end to a late night of binge drinking."
they are very much like poutine, if you know it.
give 'em a try...you will DREAM about them after.
i go to bark whenever possible....love the place.
p.s. the disco fries at bark are not the large steak fries, but smaller ones, which are amazing. and i'm not sure that they use mozzarella...the cheese they use has more of a kick to it. in a good way. -
Oh my the disco fries here are REALLY superb! I went twice after shopping at Target (its nearby Target), and I must say its a great fast food option without eating lame fast food.
-
Bark's disco fries use a cheddar sauce. Usually you find melted american or cheddar slices, but the sauce is almost like a cheddar cheese whiz.
I'm more interested in hearing about the burger, please share!
P.S. Poutine actually has solid cheese curds which melt from the hot gravy and fries. -
i really like bark, despite how they make vegetarian food more expensive than the meat stuff, which doesn't make any sense. i saw the new angus burger on the menu, which also has like 3 other kinds of meat on it, and the veggie burger is an extra dollar to substitute?
the veggie sausages are just field roast grain meat co. ones, so they don't need to be as expensive as they are. i would think really high quality meat dogs would be more. -
Just one thought about the veggie items.. perhaps they buy in less quanitity and that means they can't get the best deal from the supplier. If there is no truth to that idea I agree that charging more retail or wholesale maes no sense on vggie products that at least ingredient-wise cost less.

Has anyone had the pork belly sandwich? It sounds AMAZING.
Disco fries are on my list. I heart Poutine. -
all i can tell you was that the burger was juicy and delicious and had amazing pickles. i think i might even prefer it to some of the hot dogs, many of which I really, really love.
i want to say it was $6.95, which in my book is a bargain for a burger that good.
it's no lot 2 burger (theirs is grass fed and more expensive), but a great one nonetheless. -
Pork Belly sandwich is very good, but very greasy. It's actually not just pork belly, but pork shoulder and jowel as well. It is all pressed together and fried, then served on buttery toast.
-
I had the pork sandwich last night. It is two rectangles of lightly battered and fried pork, with this super delicious spicy cole slaw, with tons of mayo on the top bun, served on a thin toasted bun. I ask them to hold the mayo on the top now as it kills the flavor of the spicy cole slaw. It is super filling.
This is my go-to place for a weekend or quick meal after work.
Soon, I will have tried all of the Foxon soda varieties. Bwa-ha-ha! -
Bark's is great. Can't wait to go back. Their hot dogs are from upstate.

Love bark. Dogs are a bit pricey considering it's still tube steak, but it's so good it's worth it.
However, I just want to give a shout out to City Sub down the street, which has THE BEST subs ever, and has been around long before any of the chi-chi stores on Bergen replaced the community action offices. -
They can be a bit pricey, but I guess if you are drinking it all evens out.
I know I am in the minority, but I really don't get why City Sub gets so much props. I've been there twice with my girlfriend and both times the sandwiches were just bland and boring. I know you get a lot for your money, but I'd much rather have a delicious sandwich that is $1-2 more than a mediocre huge sandwich that I don't want to finish anyway.
Sorry if I cause a huge debate now, but had to add my 2 cents... -

is that matter what all the barking be? -
Wow, that's the first time I heard anyone not like City Sub. I like it because the ingredients are fresh and delicious and very thin (for some reason thin slices and condiments taste better - as Kramer once said: there's no place for the flavor to hide). To me, it has nothing to do with the amount you get for your money - or I'd be going to Subway. It's the ingredients.
But it's OK if you don't like what I like. I won't hate you for it. In fact, it means more for me.
As for Karl, I have no idea what you said. I know those words, but not together. -
Yeah, I have heard people say the same about City Sub. I've been in the area 5 years, and the two times I went I really thought it tasted like Subway to me. I preferred Mitchell's Subs, but then they closed and are now Piquant.
