Does anyone know what's happening at the former site of La Bagel Delight on 7th and 5th St? It looks like renovation efforts have really picked up.

  • someone said chinese, but not sure.
  • Is that where the Stone Park guys are opening their chinese? 'Cause otherwise, let me be the first to say, "Really, do we need another basic Chinese place around?"

Vietnamese, people, please! (not the sandwich places, but something like L'Annam.)
  • the stone park guys are opening their (authentic) chinese spot on 5th avenue, where tempo was...

this spot on 7th where le bagel delight i heard was also going to be chinese, but i don't know how reliable that rumor is...

truth be told, there really isn't any good chinese in park slope, so i welcome both.
  • I am eating from hunan Delight right now, my favorite chinese in the hood. I think they are pretty good. but, welcome trying others. Curious as to what sort of chinese place the Stone Park guys are going to do.
  • mystery solved- i saw some guys talking outside that site today and it turns out one of them is the owner of the restaurant that is opening there. mediterranean (greek), opening in january. thanks for playing everyone!
  • Greek, eh? Where does that leave the Grecian Corner down the street, which has about 1/2 the space as the new restaurant down the street?
  • I'd be shocked if grecian corner was going to reopen. there's never anybody at that site. a diner like that could not possibly afford to "renovate" for several months with no end in sight. I've never seen any movement there since they closed.
  • So there will be Okeanos (Greek) at 7th and 8th and then another Greek at 7th and 5th? That doesn't sound smart.
  • i thought okeano's was a spa
  • According to the state courts web sites, the Grecian Corner's corporate owners are involved in no less than four lawsuits. That could be the reason why things aren't moving so fast there.
  • Okeanos is a restaurant. The sign says so.
