Did this place just open? Interesting concept and the wings look good. Will have to check it out. Could have used them for our ladies book club get together. Oh well.
-
Yes, I think it opened last week. Haven't had the chance to stop by yet but I'm going to try to get some this weekend.
-
Where is SuperWings?
-
On Union Street, just off Nostrand. Its next door to the pizzaria in the space that used to be a spa.
-
I was scared at first I admit., a wing place in the "hood".
BUT They are delicious with interesting flavors like ginger BBQ etc. The place looks very tidy and clean and has very friendly service.
It's worth going in. i believe they deliver now. -
Superwings is probably my favorite place to eat in Crown Heights.
They sell wings by the pound. BY. THE. POUND. I can go up to the counter and say "Can I have 3 pounds of wings?" and then they give it to me. Amazing. I wish I could order everything by the pound.
They have seven different types of wings of various tropical fruit and spice flavors. PIneapple, Mango and Jerk are words I use often there.
You can get a chicken wing meal for $8 which includes a pound of wings, a side and either an iced tea or a lemonade. I usually get sweet potatoes for a side which are AMAZING. The ice tea is fantastic.. i don't know if it is a mix but i don't care either.
Lastly, the people operating the place are amazingly nice. Everyone behind the counter is a sweetheart and will converse with you in more of a "im getting paid to do this" way.
Check it out. Completely worth it. -

Good to know ... thanks!

I can't wait to try these.
However, I had to laugh at this line from their website, "...island-style Super speedy service..."
I don't know what island they're talking about, but in my experience that sounds like an oxymoron.
I hope they prove me wrong. -
Looks like a place has finally opened that will get me to cross Bedford.

How many wings in a pound? Their website suggests 1/2 lb per person for those bulk orders, but clearly mileage varies... -

I have yet to count as I am generally eating them in a state of euphoria, but I believe 10 wings is a pound. 1/2 a pound is most certainly enough for a meal but I am a big guy (height, not girth) and I refuse to eat anything measure in fractions. Whole numbers is the way to be.
How many wings in a pound? . -

Do you mean 10 whole wings (2 joints each), or 10 wing segments a la buffalo wings? If the former, I agree that 5 is probably enough for a meal for many people, but I don't see how 5 single joint segments could be enough for any adult. -
Please keep in mind all the antibiotics pumped into these "animals" you are now devouring and how susceptible that makes you to most viruses. Also, keep in mind that this swine-flu scare and the pending bird-flu is caused by the proliferation of gigantic factory farms. To each his own, fine; but let me just thank all you chicken-by-the-pound fans for these viruses.

One day you'll learn that fear-mongering and guilt-tripping are highly ineffective methods of persuasion.

Antibiotics have nothing to do with viruses or susceptibility to viruses. -

I stopped by Superwings last night (I'm the dashing customer, thanks!) and absolutely loved it! I had the ginger buff wings they were tasty and moist. But the best part of the experience was just how nice all the folks that work there are. Far to often good product WITH great and friendly service can't be found in the same establishment and the people there seem to have both. I wish Superwings the best of luck. They will be seeing be allot!

Super Wings, is it true that you offer delivery now? If so, will you deliver to Prospect Heights? Your website makes no mention of it other than that the 5lb "Super Star Party Swingers" are available by pickup only. Does that mean everything else is available for delivery?

So for you to deliver to Underhill I have to order 10 lbs? Underhill is closer to Nostrand than Utica is.

Glad to see another flourishing business in the neighborhood! I hope that you keep up with the delicious food and friendly service. It seems like a simple formula but for some reason, most food businesses fail to grasp this.

Subject: Community Welcome has been amazing
Seems there was a need for good food and great service. We are happy to fill the void while serving such a diverse and welcoming bunch.
This Friday, Nov. 20th, all Brooklynians come help launch a new flavor. Come in and mention the code word: 'LAVA'
to recieve a free sample of our newest flavor inspired by the island of Montseratt and its active Volcano. Plus $1 off any 1lb combo, when you use the code word!
Carnivore: We are currently experimenting with ways to extend our 'Wing-span' yet maintain premium food quality, we will be sure to notify you once we do. Meanwhlie stop by anytime for a taste of the islands... -
Wait, was the full wing with join section VS the chopped wing in to 2 pieces ever answered?
-
What we offer are the wing segments (Party Wings) in your order. you can either have the wings only or go for the combo. Where you have a choice of sides which include: potaoto wedges or sweet potatoe fries, a choice of our signature salads (Mango, Corn or Pineapple Ginger) and a drink Lemon aide or Ice tea.

Dude and I made a completely impromptu visit to Superwings today.
Had it been planned, I would have had my camera to give a full report. There would have been 2 pictures:
1. Picture of food as purchased.
2. Picture taken 15 min later of chicken bones and grubby napkin.
But I did get a menu. Here it is for those to lazy to go to mysuperwings.com:
Here are the facts:
I had the 1/2 lb combo. It came with 5 wings, and two sides.
I chose sweet potato fries and mango salad as the sides.
I chose Island BBQ as my wing flavor.
It came with a lemonade (they don't have soda).
It cost $5.99
Here is my review:
This place is in a different league than Wing Wagon on Flatbush. Unlike Wing Wagon, the wings are not fried to the point where you know you are going to need Plavix in the future. Wing Wagon just focuses on quantity, this place focuses on quality as well.
The sides are genuinely yummy and fresh. They are way better than the droopy carrots and celery of Wing Wagon.
The Wings come in a variety of flavors, not simply levels of spice (hot ---> mild).
Island BBQ was yummy. ...I will likely return to try the other flavors. Next time I'll get the 1 LB combo for $9, 10 wings. The 1/2 lb was enough, but next time I will be more of a pig.
P.S. Dude got some scraps, and enjoyed them, but he is not a picky eater or very articulate. He clearly thought it was a fine place to stop. -
I'm so tempted to order some as apps for Thanksgiving...ha!
-
Just finished some Chili Cilantro and Spiced Rubbed wings. The flavors were great, not over powering but balanced and uniquely tasty. The salads I had corn, and mango were both simple and good, a nice addition to an order of wings. The wings arrived cold but to be fair I live near the border of their delivery zone. I will definitely order again to try the other flavors even if I have to pop them in the oven for a few to heat them up. Maybe Super Wings could invest in some insulated delivery bags?
Howdy, Stranger!
