I'm a big dope (yeah, yeah, no comments please), but for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the restaurant on Court Street that so many people raved about. i even posted about it msyelf a few months ago saying we tried to go and couldn't get in. Can anyone help with the name?

  • If it's on Court St. and packed, I can only think of Buttermilk Channel and Prime Meats. was I close?
  • Ding ding ding! Buttermilk Channel, that's it!

Funny, Prime Meats is the other place we are considering for a birthday celebration this weekend, I heard a woman in the park today raving about it to a friend of hers, thanks!
  • I would have guessed Frankies 457. The same people are responsible for Prime Meats. I have not tried Prime Meats yet, but Frankies is easiest one of our favorite restaurants in Brooklyn. That said - BC is excellent too. Love the roasted Almonds and bacon appetizer.
  • I rave about Buttermilk Channel all the time. Absolutely amazing. Get the fried chicken & waffles... it'll make your legs weak.
  • After looking at both menus, i really want to go to to Buttermilk Channel, though, Prime Meats looks amazing also.

now, it doesn't say on their website, does anyone know if Buttermilk takes credit cards??
  • We did BC once. Definitely gets packed, but well worth it. It's actually what I wish The Vanderbilt was (not a knock on The Vanderbilt.)

Haven't done Prime Meats yet. Heard they had a hell of a burger.

Yes Buttermilk takes credit cards. Let us know what you think!
  • I am so excited! We have a babysitter lined up and everything! yay! i am going to call ahead to get on their waiting list right as we head out the door for them.

just so you know, you should still call, but they sort of changed the policy. I guess, now on really busy evenings, they don't take names over the phone. So, call, but don't feel like you're getting lied to if they say they don't do that.

Anyhow, have a great evening. If your server is named Heather, tell her that her neighbor says hi! :)
  • lucali, the amazing pizza place which is opening a 2nd location on 20th and 6th avenue in south slope is on court street too...
  • Don't want to go to a pizza place for my birthday, amazing or not. But thanks belz.

Oh, that stinks about them not taking names over the phone. How bad of a wait do you think it will be on a saturday night? and, why don't any restaurants around here take reservations?
  • Lucali is on Henry street
  • I went to BC and wasn't that impressed with the Chicken & Waffles. The chicken was small and overly breaded and the waffles were flavorless and hard. It came with a balsamic syrup which just did not go well with the entree. A friend had the duck meatloaf and that was really the best choice on the menu.

Wow... really? That sucks. I go there all the time and have sort of a relationship with each and every chicken... that is, of course, before I eat them.
