Film shoot on St. John's last week -- car relocated?
Subject: Film shoot on St. John's last week -- car relocated?
hey guysi parked a 1999 Toyota Camry on St. John's btwn 7th and 8th last Tuesday -- by Saturday, it was gone.
apparently, there was a film shoot there on the 19th/20th (no signs warned about thiis), and they were relocating cars...but the police have no record of my car being "relocated."
did anybody see what was going on those days? did they totally clear the street?
was it NYPD tow trucks, or did the film company have their own mercenary types?

On Thursday night (I don't know about other nights) we were over there and most of that block was cleared for the movie shoot vehicles. I can't remember the name of the project, but I do know that I've seen them shooting in the PS several times lately.

thank you!
interestingly, the police precinct only has records of 4 cars being "relocated,"
which is just not possible if the whole block was cleared... -
also, i used to have that car & it's supposed to be one of the most easily & thus commonly stolen cars.

Definitely Boardwalk Empire filming but it was St. Johns between 6th and 7th -- filming in/at a brownstone there -- so maybe not all cars between 7th and 8th had to be moved...hence no signs? -
There were a signs up today for that movie on the corner of 6th and Carroll (by the church). If you go by, I'm guessing they will still be there. There was a phone number but I forgot my phone so I couldn't save it for you!

thank you! i'll go check it out

If you haven't already found the info, go over to the Montauk Club and ask them for the contact info for the Locations Department for Boardwalk Empire - that's who was shooting there and they did have signs up (I think the first signs I saw showed up over the prior weekend, and it seemed like they cleared cars especially early this time -- I think I may have seen a PD tow truck on Wednesday, the shoot was overnight on Thursday)

Subject: FOUND IT
guys, thank you SO MUCH.
they DID relocate the care -- all the way over to Flatbush avenue!!!
these people are completely out of control -- they didn't even bother to report this to the local police precinct...
thanks very much to everybody who replied with information and about spotting the sign over on carroll, i really appreciate it! -
So glad you found it near home, and that it was stolen or towed to a lot for something else.
