New restaurant going in on Greenwood Prospect Ave — Brooklynian

New restaurant going in on Greenwood Prospect Ave

A lady in the neighborhood was talking to the guys working outside this place and they told her a restaurant is going at this location. It's been empty since I've been on the block circa 2006.

Anyone know what type of restaurant, ect? Should be interesting.

  • promising news . .always thought that was a nice spot for a local restaurant..in fact that whole strip from greenwood to reeve can use some improvement (and has slowly done so (juice box, crossroads) over the past 3-4 years

i think some of those ground level apartments are actually zoned such that they can be made into storefronts again
  • Good or bad, like it or not, Windsor Terrace and the extreme South Slope will be unrecognizable in 3-5 years with many new restaurants and retail establishments. Older businesses are turning over rapidly and being replaced by the newer types found in gentrified areas. (DUB pies, Double Windsor, Le P'tit Paris Bistro, Enzo's, the wine shop on PPW etc., etc.) Really curious to see what goes in to MJ Smith Funeral home which is about to be sold and turned into a "retail establishment". The stretch on Prospect Ave. referred to in this thread certainly has the potential to explode.
  • I heard this was going to be a burger joint, but haven't seen anything to confirm that.
