Best food for delivery
My wife's birthday is today and the plan was to go out for dinner, but things have changed since she is home sick. I can't cook a nice dinner on short notice, so I was hoping there would be a good restaurant that also delivers. I realize fancy food doesn't travel well, but I thought I would give it a shot.
I may technically live in Park Slope, but I am closer to Windsor Terrace, so I am assuming that most North Slope restaurants (especially NW slope) will not deliver all the way out to me. Perhaps something in Center Slope and points south.
Thanks!

what kind of food, price range?
-
We eat everything, so no solid preference on food, although the food should be something appealing to a sick person. Don't think sushi would be good for tonight.

Price range is open. Looking for something better than standard delivery food. Blue Ribbon might be too expensive, but then again, places like that do not deliver (at least I don't think so, and even if they did, we are too far). -
So, you need a good place in Windsor Terrace that delivers fancy food?

Technically yes, but there are no good delivery options in Windsor Terrace, which is why I am asking the Park Slope forum. -
LA Villa? A Caprese Salad, and pizza or pasta?
-
Hopefully you know what sick food she likes
I like soups and spicy stuff.
Rotisserie chicken and some of the spicy sauce from Coco Roco is good sick food, imo.
The Pie Shop has good soups and the pies are delicious if you order them cold and brown them yourself. Their delivery is hit or miss, as in some days they don't have it unexpectedly. -
Coco Roco sounds good. Yes, soups and spicy definitely hit the mark. La Villa might be a bit too far, but Coco Roco is 6th, so it's about half mile closer.
None of the "better" restaurants in the neighborhood like Applewood or Lot 2 deliver. Delivering somewhat upscale food doesn't make sense, but I wanted to do something nice tonight. Not sure if Sidecar delivers. -
Pretty sure Anthony's delivers though don't know if that's what you want

I like their pizza but it doesn't travel well -
Olive Vine between Lincoln and St. Johns is great delivery, but I don't know if they deliver to Windsor Terrace.

The weather is nice so maybe you could stop somewhere that doesn't deliver and then walk it home or take a car service if you're in a hurry or it's so far that the food will get cold.
And this is very sweet of you! -
Anthony's food is good and a bit more upscale than some of the other suggestions, but, I stopped getting delivery from them a long time ago, everything always showed up ice cold. Maybe you can pick soemthing up from one of the nicer restaurants and bring it home yourself?

I know that most of the places that don't offer delivery also do not have take out. Can't blame them, if you take time to create a great meal, you don't want to just box it up and send it somewhere.
We never get delivery (except from Red Hot on those days when it's really cold and the will to cook is low, which is about twice a year), so I am really ignorant about the options. I need to make a decision soon!

I wondered about that. Too bad.
Some things I like to order from Coco Roco, in case you're trying to narrow it down:
the chicken, of course
spicy sauce
maduros
spinach mash potatoes
chicken cilantro soup -
Thanks for all the help. In the end, all she wanted was some soup and other items from Red Hot. Oh well.
