When are the police going to crack down on Crown Heights and Prospect Lefferts Garden? It's about time they do.

What a shame.
That's the same bodega that sheltered a bunch of grade school kids (told em to run inside and then shut the metal gate until the cops came) last year after there was a shooting on Kingston Ave & St. Marks in the middle of the day.
Maybe if the NYPD saw fit to "share" some of the police that stay posted up just 6 blocks south at Eastern Parkway 24/7/365 this could have been prevented. -
How can this keep happening over and over, same neighborhood, same time every day, same type of robberies, for the past few weeks. I don't get it. I've seen cops around Franklin lately, what the hell's going on? How is it possible for a couple of kids to keep robbing people in broad daylight??

If you are tired of this type of stuff happening to our community, then please write to the police of chief Raymond Kelly and the Mayor’s office. I know this may seem dumb to some. The southern portion of crown heights has been blanketed with officers for years. Do we not deserve some of the resources? Especially with the wave of crime that has been happening.

Cops need to move around
I walk up Nostrand to/from the A every weekday
Coming up to Dean I saw a car run a red light on Dean crossing Nostrand in plain sight of the cop crab claw & occupied police car behind it
What's the point of having that thing if they're not gonna patrol for cops
Ppl on my block just around the corner sell drugs in the open
Around the corner some poor gentrifier got shot calling a mugger's bluff
When is the NYPD going to make the concerted effort? All they have to do IMO is just throw two cops cars in constant patrol... one going north/south the other going east, combing the neighborhood for 24 hrs
They already have one cop car sitting doing nothing for 24 hrs. Throw them in one of those Altima hybrids and put my tax dollars to work. This is ludicrous -

I agree with you. The police are now even in a worse spot, they can't stop and frisk, and if it looks, and acts like a thug you still can't call it a thug until it pulls a weapon and robs somebody. Yesterday was "Day of Outrage". Also the child seat law went into effect so 8 year olds need to be in seats. In other big cities they set up a check point, not for the sole purpose of harrassing people but to inform them, handing drivers a flyer pointing out the new car seat rule it would

when driver pull over they often have guns, drugs,no seat belts,no insurance, bad registration and are questioned further. As it stands you can drink, sell drugs and commit welfare fraud but it's robbery that they should be looking for...stop one and you will stop another. As was shown by this weeks Brooklyn drug/gun bust they can wait up to 8 months to make an arrest for the crime, bag or gun sold today ,guy may get pinched at the end of the summer using their current technique. -
And I am almost positive I saw a drug deal happen in broad daylight at bergen and brooklyn this afternoon. If I hadn't just been mugged at that very spot I would have pulled out my phone to call the cops! Is anyone going to the CB8 meetings? Is this stuff being talked about at all?

open drug dealing is not new to CH.
The police are well aware of it. The goal is to simply move them along.
...the cops would likely do more if they could. -
Cops can do more. To start, they can move around from the Dean/Nostrand crab claw. I NEVER see cops on NYA, and I'm not on Brooklyn enough but I'd imagine its the same deal there. It's frustrating. When is the next meeting? I will go.

This is terrifying. It is 1 block from where I live. Sigh....

Mugging on St. Marks between Nostrand and Rogers late in the afternoon. It happened as the person was entering their house. Right on their fucking doorstep. By the way, it was at gunpoint. What the fuck is happening in this neighborhood???
