Can't speak for today, but last night my internet was finally running okay. Of course, my stupid PS3 decided to stop working last night. Sigh. Guess I know what to tell Current Wife what I want for Christmas.

You can't fight City Hall and you sure as hell aren't willing to fight Time Warner.

You want to do something then go on strike, cancel your service. I canceled by cable a long time ago.

Subject: Office Of Emergency Management Notice

From the city OEM:

Per OEM 609:
At Approximately 0500 hrs, an overhead Con Ed line damaged a Time Warner Cable fiber optic line and an RCN cable line was also damaged.
Time Warner reports, Brooklyn and Queens customers are without TV. Approximately 550,000 customers affected.
RCN reports approx 1,500 customers without TV, Internet and Phone service in Queens.
The splicing unit from Time Warner Cable is replacing the damaged cable.

ETA for repairs is within one hour.
