Cable internet service
I'm thinking of switching from Verizon dsl to cable internet service. Anyone have any experience with cable?
Verizon DSL is ok when it's working, but we've had a bad week last week: Intermittent phone service and no DSL. The customer service was unbearably horrible. I was seriously thinking of chopping down the telephone pole in the backyard to get a little attention. It took complaints to the BBB, FCC, and the consumer affairs dept. to get a response to Verizon. We finally got everything working but I'm so traumatized that I'm investigating Cable. The rates seem comparable but I haven't any experience with them.

Kevin---I have Time Warner cable internet. Its pretty fast and reliable. would recommend.

I also have it, it is called Road Runner. You may have 2-3 brief outages a year. I know several people who have switched from DSL to Cable or from DSL back to Cable. DSL is OK for businesses who have maintenance contracts. -

I've had Verizon DSL since it became available. I've probably had three outages in that entire time (10+ years) and none lasted more than a few hours. -

verizon's broadband wireless card is 60/month for 5GB monthly download cap. Going over is expensive. The card usually costs $100, as part of that deal.
