I am totally flummoxed !

Without going into too mucToth detail now, has anybody heard of a problem where the WiFi works fine but the land line does not allow access to secure sign on sites as in bank logins, bill paying on line. It times out if I let it run every time. If I've signed into my hotmail account automatically, no problem, it goes, but when I've signed out I cannot sign back in until I unplug the landline and go WiFi. I'm thinking a button has been pushed somewhere but aren't the buttons the same for both WiFi and landlines? It used to work fine and my antique desktop still works. Call me Bewildered!

    Sounds like a cache (expired session info) or firewall issue that is not present when using other connections (like wifi, for example).

    When you run into it next time post the exact error message you see, that'll help.

    Yes sure cause when you unhook the landline there is no internet so your computer goes and automatically takes you rnext door neighbors un encrypted connection

    I was referring to landline or wifi connection through his own router, btw.

    Each card in his computer (landline ethernet network interface card, wifi card etc) is treated as a different connection inside his computer, even if the above cards are all connecting to the same router (and ISP connection outside that).

    And this does not necessarily hinge upon a wifi connection itself being encrypted or not.

    Secure https connections are always routed differently than regular http connections (different port, encryption added etc) regardless of whether one's wifi connection itself is secured and encrypted or not.

    But I digress...

    forgive me I'm text while driving. Thank jeffery, its been like this for months! I've unistalled and reinstalled with latest drivers, still the same.
