We won't need to paint the pole, except at the event when I fully expect to Carnivore to write the "border of Prospect Heights is Washington Ave" over and over in red marker.
...but yes, we can build the base using lots of power tools the table saw, router, drill, and miter saw.
It can be the sturdiest base ever! We could build it to withstand people shimming up the pole.
Nice!
Tomorrow afternoon-ish, perhaps? -
we have to be done before 3, when a few folks are headed to a bar then to Dyker hgts.
so, come over anytime between 10 and 2.
Dude and I will look for some lumber in the morning. -
K. I'll still call first so get outta that room and answer!

Would you have anything against decorating it *after* Festivus? I'm thinking we could recycle it for the festival of the goddess Eostre next April by engraving "INRI" on it. -

No problem, but then it will no longer be a Festivus Pole.

hmmm. I was thinking of leaving it under the Arch at GAP, next to the christmas tree and menorah. ....but if you want it, its yours.
We should somehow decide who gets to keep the snazzy sign. -
I am pleased to announce that the Official Brooklynian Festivus Pole is now complete!
Below you are witnessing the combined efforts of a Jew, a Muslim, and a prior Catholic now Atheist!
....if I may say so, the result is magnificent!
Modular design allows it to be easily taken apart!
Recycled materials make it environmentally friendly!
Excessive use of screws and nails make it meteor proof!
Wheels facilitate its use as a dance partner by drunk people!
-
That is FULL OF WIN!!
-
What is the cross street?
-
It was fun! I got to use the power tools! :bounce:
Almost escaped without injury but of course near the end while hammering the nail I hit my thumb..ouch.#-o

You Festivisians can be so insensitive by calling it a Festivus Pole. Have you forgotten the true meaning of Festivus? So what's left of us among the rest of us forgotten by Festivus?
-

-
I got it...but jumped in after the stream had started on its tangent.
