buying Apple supplies in PH? — Brooklynian

buying Apple supplies in PH?

Does anyone know of anywhere in PH that sells Apple supplies? In particular, I need a new power cord for my iBook G4 (grrrrr.) I'd prefer not to have to go to Manhattan today (Sunday) if I can help it. Does anyone have any tips as to a supplier, er, retailer? :)

Steve, a DHer (actually, a DSer, I think) has a computer shop in the nabe. I'm not sure if they carry Apple stuff, but you could call and find out.

  • Carnivore...Appreciate the promo, but the store has been closed for about 6 years. I'm just an IT consultant now. Much less overhead. If anyone needs work done, I'm your guy, but that's my home address would you mind removing it from the post. :)

Megan...There isn't much apple retail in Bk, well other than Mikeys in Billyburg. Dependig on what you need, you may be able to get it at JandR, which is a quick trip across the bridge. O/w the apple store and Tekserve are the standbys, and I order a lot from macmall.com . What did you need?
  • The Circuit Sh!tty down on Flatbush & Atlantic might actually have an iBook power adapter, but I wouldn't bet on it. But J&R isn't that far.

Man, I am missing the Apple employee discount pricing more and more.

I looked there yesterday, and no dice. Or, at least none that I could find on the floor. Same held true for Office Max, and I didn't bother trying Target (too chaotic) or PC Richard (wrong side of the roads/intersections).

Thankfully, I work very nearby to J&R and bought a $35 Macally iBook AC adapter at lunctime today. My original post was simply me trying to appease my id's cry of "NOW! NOW! NOW!"

I needed a AC adapter for my iBook, as there was an... accident involving the original cord's connecting pin. (grrrrrr.) Hooray for J&R and Macally saving me $45(!!!!!) - the official iBook replacement cord costs $79.99 while the Macally cord from J&R costs $34.99! Hooray!
  • Yes, but isn't that helpful two-color LED feedback *worth* that extra forty bucks?

    Oh, wait.
