Check the dollar stores, too. Most of the stuff isn't cute, but some of it is passable
-
these are for gifts (not my own use, lord knows i have no room for a tree!) so something cute is preferred
-
Oh, ok....if you want to go all classy and shit....try Ikea...not exactly supporting local business, but I was there last week and they had a ton of cute, cheap ornaments
-
Park delicatessen 533 park place
All antique Ornaments are $2, and $3 each
Here till 7pm -
As of Friday CB2 was out of disco ball ornaments. Just in case anybody cared. Not that I did.

For out of towners, I kind of like the subway map ornaments. They have them in grand central and maybe union square. The Usq market has gorgeous ones. Did you try Otto and Living and thoselocal boutiques?
-
Oooo union sq market! good idea- my school is right there so I walk through that mess every morning (with blinders on) tomorrow I will try to actually pay attention!
-
Under the Pig and Bob & Judi's both have great vintage ornaments. If you're looking for newer ones, the MoMA usually has some pretty ones. Good luck!
-
Yes, check ou the Union Square Market. Denise DeLong is there and has some great ornaments though I think out of your price range

Also check the market at Grand Central Terminal
In PS try Clay Pot -
Swallow on Smith Street in Carroll Gardens has beautiful, unique ornaments. Not PS, but just down the hill.

I was at skaredy cat yesterday and they had some really cool ornaments, not sure how much they were though
-
You could try making your own. That will keep it cheap, and people appreciate the personal touch.

perhaps something made from wood?
-
I went ornament hunting myself last week. Lord & Taylor and Saks were selling ornaments like Christopher Radko for 40% off. Which comes out to around $15 -$30 total. Also, the new linen store on Union between 6th & 7th had interesting ornaments.

True, I was in laytner's on Friday night and they had a couple nice ornaments, forgot about them
-
Latner's, on Union, near the Park Slope Food Coop (as long as you don't mind being called "honey").

Try Target! The one at the Junction has a ton of really (really!) adorable, unique ornaments (my sister and I bought these wood/wire animals (squirrels, beaver, owls, etc) that are so great, as well as a few other cool ones (these snowball snowman's heads that honestly make me giggle like a little girl with glee every time I see them). they were not pricey (all under $6 a box)
