Turf Wars
There is a turf war going on in Wyckoff Gardens (project). They were shooting last night and they were shooting just a little while ago. I believe an older woman was injured.
For those who are purchasing $1M + homes in the surrounding area, there is no need to worry you're investments are safe because these morons just want to hurt each other they pose no threat to you, your family or your property. My point is that something must be done about this. I understand that your worlds apart from the people who live in the projects, but please note that everyone who resides there doesn't choose to be thugs.
I believe that renters & owners in the surrounding area need to unify and put an end to all this gunfire and get the thugs and their family evicted and bring in more deserving people who will appreciate low-income housing and will not turn it into the Wild Wild West. So that this development can once again thrive with hard-working families who share the same goals and aspirations for their families.
Boerum Hill is more than Restaurant Row on Smith Street.

How do you know it was a turf war? I grew up on Wyckoff bet. Bond and Nevins and still have many many friends who live in Wyckoff projects. How do you know which families to evict? How do you know that it was someone who lives there and not an outsider starting trouble? There are families who have been living there for over 35 years who are a part of this community. They have a very active tenants association so before you get the surrounding area into a tizzy why not speak to the tenants association and work in conjunction with them.

I think you misunderstood my point. I'm just as concerned as you are. I too have family who still live there. I know because all the shooting is steming from the January 14th murder over turf. C'mon, who are we kidding the tenant association is not active at all. The designated areas for the tenant association are clutter with the individual's clutter. Everyone knows what is going on and plenty of people know who is doing the shooting and where they live, so believe me the right people would be evicted, but they refuse to get involved. I'm very concerned for the future of this development if things continue as they are, especially since we're school is will be out tomorrow and more children and innocent bystanders will be outside during the day. These modern day cowboys have no regard.

Thanks I did misunderstand  Now that you have cleared it up I agree with you 100% and hope that you can accomplish what you like and would be more than happy to spread the word to any of my friends there. -
Thanks. I think that before we can accomplish anything positive, we must all unify ourselves. We need to stop being scared and voice our concern. We need more people like the tenant leader at Ebbetts Field, Ms. Scott. A bullet through her front door will not stop her from fighting against the people dealing drugs in her complex. I hope that she too continues to fight the power.
