Caviar in the Slope — Brooklynian

Caviar in the Slope

Where's a good source for caviar around here? I need a generous quantity so would like to go with American sturgeon this time around. Would normally go to Russ & Daughters or Brighton Beach for the real deal, but no time for either. Any suggestions for a good selection at a fair (relative) price in this neighborhood? (I realize this might be a long shot)

  • Maybe try and call

    Murray's Sturgeon Shop
    2429 Broadway
    (between 89th St & 90th St)
    New York, NY 10024
    (212) 724-2650

Of course I need to end with this:

Champagne wishes and caviar dreams  :nemo:
  • Thanks Mama but need a place in the slope. No time to get to russ & daughters much less the upper west side. Will keep Murray's in mind for future meals when I've planned my menu (and timing) better though.
  • Fairway in Red Hook has various kinds of caviar.
  • In the 'hood try Blue Apron or Union Market.
  • Yes, Fairway is my backup if I can't find it in the neighborhood. Thank you.
  • I think I saw a sign at Brooklyn Larder advertising caviar.
  • i was going to suggest bklyn larder as well.

never noticed it, but if anyplace in the slope has it, i'd try there first.

    and then maybe blue apron.

and possibly d'vine taste...? i don't know about that one...
  • I got mine at Fairway. Decent prices for American Hackleback Sturgeon roe.
