recycling packing supplies
Im wondering if any of you knows a place where I can donate packing supplies. My office deals with a lot of computers (in dozens) and various computer parts, and we always ended up with a bunch of styrofoams and packing peanuts and cardboard boxes. But cardboxes are recycled by our office building, so that's fine. However, those foams and peanuts are considered as regular trash, which i think is such a waste. We've thrown out countless of styrofoams, and there are 4-5 trash bags full of packing peanuts still sitting in the office. I googled a place near my midtown office that would accept packing peanuts, haven't checked with them if they would accept styrofoams though.
I probably could try out craigslist too, but im wondering if any of you has any other recommendation?

You might have a lot of luck with craigslist, but that's all I've got.
Good luck! -
I'd like to know where to recycle these as well. Please let me know if you find an answer?

some ups centers will accept packing materials if they aren't too banged up (peanuts and other styrofoam, as well as bubble wrap). other shipping companies might take them, too.

Foam Pack Industries (NJ) recycles styrofoam, if you ship it to them they'll take it for free. Fortunately shipping isn't that expensive since styrofoam doesn't weigh much.

Also as someone mentioned some Fed Ex/UPS locations will take it but that seems hit or miss in my experience. -
i've forgotten about freecycle, thanks for the reminder.
i found http://www.loosefillpackaging.com/ and I called up one of the drop sites near my office which happens to be a store called PostNet, they said they are accepting the big bulky styrofoams too. I havent gotten a chance to check out the place yet.
Since i've just posted an ad on craigslist, i'll see how it goes.
