fireworks?

yeah, I was trying to figure out where they were...the reflection off the windows 'cross the street looked pretty impressive...
-
It's the North Koreans. Kim Il Jong jwants in on a rooftop coop on EP.
-
It definitely seems like there are more fireworks around the neighborhood than last year.
-
I saw it too! I was walking down 5th Avenue, heading home from a work party in the Slope. These two little kids were sitting in front of a shop and as soon as the booms started they went screaming back inside, hollering, "Ohhh, SNAP! Ohhhhhh, SNAP!" So cute.
Looked like they were in the park towards Grand Army Plaza, or maybe near the museum/botanic garden? -
There were a Prospect Park thingy! They are showing Jurassic Park, I do not get the connection but they were passing out flyers for the event this past week-end.
-
crazy fireworks noises near me at like 9pm for about 20 minutes, sounded very close
-
Booo! Jurassic Park on a giant screen in Prospect Park? And no one told me?
This is a travesty. Pure heartbreak. -
Many are probably wondering: "I wonder if those fireworks would sound like armageddon from a top-floor apartment on Lincoln Place". The answer is yes.
-
I believe they came from the museum. I don't know what the occasion was. Scared the pants off me, though, for a second. One of my cats is still MIA...
-
Yes, my cat is missing too and I am very worried. She is outside on the Park Place/Sterling/Vandy/Underhill block. A seven toed tortoise shell. If seen please post a message here.

I can't wait to see what Martin has in mind for the ribbon cutting for Ratnerville. -

possibly an accident?
the occaision is SUMMER, during which completely non-sensical fireworks displays from Prospect Park are the norm. -

Quoted for truth. -
I was in my shower and watched them out the widow. That was a first for me! Never watched fireworks from a shower before! Great view of the park from my bathroom window though...
-
Also, before the yuppies moved in and cleaned, I mean messed everything up, there were no fireworks displays in the park, no movie viewings, no end of the school, heck there was not even summer back then! Man, I miss those days! Damn gentrificationization! lol

they were fired off from Mount Prospect Park...which of course was littered with fireworks shell casings this morning. Why does MPP get shat upon everytime PP has an event?
Also wished they had been considerate enough to put a posting up around our neighborhood so we could have EXPECTED this. -
This is the second year in the row Marty M. has hosted a free family movie in Prospect Park with a fireworks chaser.
Last year it was the original Stars Wars (or, "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" for the fanboys/girls here).
A good scene both years, spreading out a blanket, picnic and wine in the park with zero hassles from the boys in blue. -

They were handing out flyers in the park last week about it. The people even stood there with a huge inflatable dinosaur! Some signage would have been nice, but they did let people know... kinda.

I heard it all the way over here on Park Place and Brooklyn Ave.
-
I saw the dinosaur being carried around by a couple of guys, didn't know what to make of it... the fireworks were awesome and loud, but not as impressive as the five hundred car alarms that sang out in unison for several minutes afterward like some strange vehicular mating cry...
-
When I heard the first explosion, the first thing I thought was that the crane collapsed at 1 Eastern Parkway. Then after the next few explosions, I realized it was fireworks. Sorta scared the crap out of me anyway.

Which park were they handing out flyers in, Prospect or Mt. Prospect? All well and good to advertise in Prospect Park to generate attendance. But we agree - signage in Mount Prospect/throughout the neighborhood would have been welcome as well. -
wished the movie would have been better publicized
fireworks were fun before i was a dog owner
these days, when a loud cracker goes fire
all i can think of is my little girl getting scared by the bang
Howdy, Stranger!
