Stroller Recommendation — Brooklynian

Stroller Recommendation

I am in search of a good stroller style for getting around the streets of Brooklyn as well as riding the subway. We would love to get a stroller that would do well for a newborn up through a toddler. Can anyone make a good recommendation? Any thoughts on the City Mini or Bugaboo Frog? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have a 6 month old daughter, and I live in Brooklyn Heights. I bought the frog, and I do like it alot. I only have one complaint: the wheel base is wider than you think it is, and I tend to misjudge the width and catch a wheel on a doorjam or curb occasionally. I have spied quite a few of the new Uppa Baby strollers in the neighborhood, and they seem to have improved on the frog design is a few minor areas: the bassinet is a little smaller, which is good. The frog bassinet is bigger than it needs to be. The Uppa Baby sits a little higher, so baby is closer to you. And, the carry-all underneath is larger. This does make a big difference in Brooklyn! I do have to say, though, the big nubby wheels on the frog have been fantastic in the recent snow and rain, and they handle the cobblestone, slate, and broken curbs with ease. I am only 5'3", but I have no trouble getting that stroller up and down stairs and curbs. I have not taken it on the subway, though. I have just recently converted to the seat rather than the bassinet, so I may give it a whirl now. I plan to get a MacLaren when she is a year old and we are more likely to leave Brooklyn with her...
