Chinese broccoli? — Brooklynian

Chinese broccoli?

Anyone know where I can buy this in the Slope? I love it - and I hate all other forms of broccoli/kale. The produce list on the Food Coop site doesn't have it.

  • Did you try the Key Food on 5th Ave (off Prospect)? If they don't have it and it is something you use often, the manager will order it for you.
  • Thank you!!! I will give that a shot!
  • The little Asian bodega on 7th Ave between Garfield and Carroll used to have it all the time! They have great produce and all sorts of interesting grocery items.
  • OMG, I totally forgot about them. I used to buy sushi supplies there all the time. Thank you so much! They are a bit more convenient to me.
  • i have never found it in the slope, so please let me know if you do. i LOVE it and chinese restaurants always overcharge for it even though it's cheaper.
  • if you're willing to travel beyond the slope, the best asian supermarket i've found is the Hong Kong Supermarket on 60th st and 8th ave

lots of good stuff, from tiny dried shrimp to veggies, etc. etc.
  • OMG. Wow, we do get out that way to go to Coluccio's about once a month, so this would be PERFECT to continue that run. I see they have fish and other things as well - yurrrrm! Will definitely go.
  • Yeah, Ive never seen it in the slope, but if you go to Brooklyn Chinatown, which is around a half an hour away, there are tons of asian markets with every asian vegetable you can imagine for around a dollar a pound or less!
