Stereo Repair — Brooklynian

Stereo Repair

I have a stereo amplifier that needs some work. the left channel volume goes in and out (typical, you can never depend on the left for anything). Anybody recommend a place that repairs? It has sentimental value. It once played "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" non-stop for one time.

  • Not in the BK, but I usually send people to Analogique (27 W 20th)

Have you already done the troubleshooting to ensure that it's not the left speaker or left speaker wire that's acting up on you? Or the source, perhaps?
  • Thanks, WhyFi,
Yes I have switched wires and speakers, etc.. It's a low volume thing, it comes back on if you turn the volume up, then you can turn it back down again.
  • I took my stereo receiver into JnR in PS. They fixed it for less than $50.

Do you mean like J & R in Manhattan but in Park Slope? Where the hell is J & R in Park Slope?.
I gotta get out more often.
  • It's on 7th ave and President maybe?
  • I like Cosmophonic sound on the UES.
  • Thanks Scarlett, Carny.
  • I've used Analogique. They were expensive, but did a good job.
