Question about Federal Jury duty

Hello. I was summoned to the federal court house at 225 cadman plaza in Brooklyn for jury duty. Can anyone tell me who might have had jury duty there if I am allowed to bring a laptop? Thank you

  • Don't think so. Check out the FAQ on this site:

  • That's the wrong court... Kings County is in the Eastern District. http://www.nyed.uscourts.gov/ (New York County is Manhattan)

The Eastern District website doesn't have anything about electronics... just no jeans or tank tops!

NYS Superior Court is much better. They had WiFi.
  • I saw many jurists with laptops a couple years back.

Oops! Sorry about that. I do know that when I went to the Federal Courthouse at Cadman Plaza last spring for my husband's citizenship ceremony, they confiscated everybody's cellphone, which was a total pain in the ass.

I agree that Supreme Court is much better. I had jury duty at the Criminal Court for a day last week and surfed the net all day.
  • Congrats to your hubby!

So if they took away cell phones, I guess laptops are a no no too.
