Hey Suzie: If you smoked just now and then, you were never really addicted and it was probably easier to give up. When you are a hardcore addict like I am it is beyond difficult. My brother Frankie died of lung cancer and was smoking to the end. He just couldn't do it. It's very, very sad. I have to try and very soon. I know there are quite a few smokers on this board as I witnessed at the reunion. Maybe we could start some kind of "smokers club" and try to quit together. You never know what works.

Okay, a little thought or two from the Old Goat: Terry, I am not trying to put you in my shoes, but!!!! I had a lot of treatments for Prostate Cancer. One of the mean side effects are mood swings. And yes I get mean Hot Flashes & Flushes. The flushes & flashes only effect me but the mood swings effect everyone around me. You do not have a Prostate gland but women have other glands (or have had them taken out) that cause similar side effects. Vent your feelings and get then over with. They,unfortuneatly, will come back but enjoy the times in between. You smokers-QUIT COLD TURKEY! I quit from 2 1/2 packs a day in 1963 and have not had a cigarette since. Whenever I go to the Hospital, regardless of the reason for the trip, they ask me if I smoke or ever smoked. That is because smoking can cause a lot more then lung problems. It efffects your whole system. Suzie, you could have taken a shower here but it is a hell of a trip to Florida just for a shower. Anthony-find a hungry young Doctor. The fat cats don't need you and most could not care less how you feel. I am not condemning all Doctors. I have two who saved my life and I still go to them. And to all. Getting down some and ALMOST depressed is very normal. You have to kick yourself in the butt and get out of it. Clinical depression however must be treated by a professional. :scratch:

Hi Barbara, It's amazing but in the last 3 months, my sister, one cousin and my best friend all quit smoking, I just can't believe it that they all started at the same time. I was upset with my friend because she had quit for one year and then went back so I'm hoping this is it for her, she also joined the gym to keep her mind occupied. I think it would be great to start a support group online, that's the best way!!!! -

Hi Suzie, Loved the bathroom, wow, very nice!! It's great that your son is right downstairs in case you need him. My son is about 10 min. away and when I call him, he's over in a flash!!!!! So, is the water heater installed yet? -

Hi Suzie, MaryAnn,Patsy, Warren & Jeannette....that support group for smokers sounds like a good idea. Used to smoke 2 packs a day years ago-got up one morning and threw the pack in the garbage-I was 6 mos.pregnant at the time-never smoked again....you just need your friends to be there for you...the more encouragement to stop the better....people don't realize how strong they really are.......hope everyone has a nice weekend-relax and enjoy it....talk to you later....BY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
