  • Do you work out of the home? When I worked in a day care most people picked one near work and not near their home so that a) if there was an emergency they could get there quickly, b) they only had to pay for the exact hours they needed and not an extra 45 minutes in the morning and an extra 45 minutes in the evening because of commuting to work after dropping off the kid. Just something to think about if you work outside of Prospect Heights.
  • Montessori (sp?) on Washington and St. Johns takes babies that are that young....
  • i work in the city near time square. i have thought about doing daycare near there also, but i thought if i did it near home then my husband coudl also help out with drop off and pick up. thanks for the advice so far.
  • There's a daycare on the corner of Eastern Parkway and Classon. Looks like an ok place, I think it's Jewish? I forget the name...

Right, yea- that's it. Finishing up my coffee now...

True, Chi Tots would likely be more Asian than Jewish....

perhaps very quiet and peaceful, in an inner energy sorta way.

it's kinda too bad there isn't a chi daycare
  • I suggest you join the yahoo group PHeightsParents. There are many parents who are also looking to share a full time Nanny (which might be more cost effective for you). A few day care/montesouri's post there when they have openings.

PSParents used to be free but they do charge a fee now. This group is a great source of information.

There is a group/mail list for the Underhill Playground I think it is called Friends of the Underhill Playground. I know a few of the regular posters here belong to it so maybe they can chime in and let you know.
  • thanks guys!

there are 4 Eladias Kids in Prospect Heights and also on 5th Ave in the Slope. They start at 6mos to 6 years. A wonderful, nurturing place. Eladias Kids has been around for 20 years... I highly recommend this place. Its near prospect Place and Flatbush Avenue. A short walk from you.
  • Off-topic, but why does the kid on the eladiaskids site wear a blue shirt that says "my mom's a ho" Unfortunate cropping incident? I think not...
