Man who fell on Subway Tracks on Wednesday (Jan 27th)

I feel compelled to re-post this here (originally on NY Times website)- since many of us use Atlantic Station. His wife is looking for any information regarding his fall.
Good Morning,

I am the wife of the man that tragically died yesterday on the subway. Please know it breaks my heart that he was alone when he took his last breath and some people were so insensitive and heartless as to take pictures of a dying man. He was 41 years old, a beautiful, loving man, husband, father and friend. He has three children and a baby due by next month that he will never get to meet.

He was the only son that his parents had, my rock and cheerleader and the first one by your side when you are in need, i miss him terribly already. I would appreciate anyone that can reach out to me via e-mail, [email protected] in order to truly shed some light as to what happened to my husband. Please keep my husband and our family in your prayers as we badly need it to get through this devastation.

Thank you,

Mrs. Duviella-St. Surin

  • My wife was on that train, but didn't see anything other than blood on the platform...
  • Just read the article - my wife was told the same thing as the conductor - that he had fallen in to the side of the train and was pulled in to the gap between the train and platform, not that he fell on the tracks.
  • Oh God- what an awful way to die! I feel so bad for her- she's about to give birth. Very sad.
  • This is tragic, and I can't imagine what the family is going through. It does sound like it was truly an accident. He probably got off because he wasn't feeling well, the train started to move, and then he fell.
