NW Corner of 6th Ave 13th Street

Hey out there! Can anyone tell me what establishment is on the NW corner of 6th Ave & 13th Street?. Years ago it was Finnerty's tavern. They had a big jar on the end of the bar (Probably a pickled pigs feet jar.) When people left they would throw their loose change in the jar and at the end of the month there would be a spread of Cold Cuts, Hard Boiled eggs etc:. Neighborhood bars in those days always had something going.

Was it 6th ave and 13th exactly or between some blocks. That corner, if I remember correctly, is all residential?

Right now it is one of the Beansprouts (day care) locations.

Childless me would prefer the tavern!

Thanks for the Google info Gross. I have used it but in many instances it is very hard to discern between a business or residental place.

MAMACITA : Finnertys Tavern was right on the corner of 13th & 6th Ave. It was the corner towards 12th St and towards 5th Ave. There was another Bar & Grill (As they were called in those days) on the corner of 5th Ave & 13th St called Mike Golden's. They had a Ladies entrance on the 13th St side. Many of the neighborhood Taverns had "Ladies" entrances around the side. That was of course before Women;s Lib.
