Move Your Money
Has anyone else been seeing the move your money campaign going on? Must admit we have a Chase account and a Citibank account. Two companies that have been stealing from all of us. Any local banks or credit unions that offer flexible checking accounts, bill pay, and maybe even some ATM benefits without gouging? Would love to hear recommendations or even from others thinking about moving their money from these monster thieves.

I left WAMU as soon as Wells Fargo bought Wachovia. I had a great banking relationship with Wells Fargo, but at the time I moved here there were only two options for truly national banks, WAMU and BofA (I was still dependent on my parents and needed regular deposits at the time
).
My primary account is with a credit union. I'm not sure about the options outside of MCU and how you join.
This link might be a good start for credit unions that invest locally.

Yeah I am looking into the same thing. I reached out to many of the local banks in NYC, however I am not satisfied with what they offer, compared to Bank of America, who I admit is probably one of the slimiest banks, however I depend on their robust online banking system, online bill payment and net worth management tools for my business. I haven't found a local bank yet that I think can provide the same level of services, however if someone on here can recommend something good, I will certainly check it out.

hello neighbor,
I left BofA several years ago - I refer to them as THE EVIL EMPIRE - I went to COMMERCE which was great. TD bought them out and it's not as good but It's still better than BofA
I found BofA's website poorly designed - TD is much better and they have bill pay also if that's important to you - the extra long hours are not the key thing for me.
I too am a business owner - BofA was giving 0 .1% on my Money Market while COMMERCE at the time was offering over 2% BofA was also telling me that any deposited checks over $5K would take 7 days to clear - that's just BS and then raised their fees. That's when I said "seeya" to the EVIL EMPIRE -
when next you're in SuperWings ask Mrs. superwings her advice on that. She has extensive banking industry experience.

The People's Alliance Credit Union is a community based credit union with an office at 67 Hanson Place, near.South Elliott Place in Fort Greene. I've had an account there for many years. It's a cool place to park some of your money and also convenient if you frequent Fort Greene a lot. Ask for Elizabeth, she's the manager.

Subject: M&T
I recommend M&T Bank. A solid, decent company that treats you with integrity.
