To day I had the pleasure to meet Terry for the first time,
she knocked on my door at the Nursing home & Rehab center where I am staying until I learn how to walk again and I knew it was her from the pictures I have seen from the Reunion.

Terry surprised me with a huge gift basket which she explained it was a get well gift from all of you on the blog.
Well I always knew that mostly all of the people who came from the old neighborhood had a large heart and always looked out for each other. Today I saw that this is still true and people don't change they might have moved away but they still have that large heart.

I have to say thank you very much to all of you, this made my day, I felt so much better today to know that all of you have thought of me with all the kind words written on the cards and letters that have been sent to me and now this great gift basket. My Family said it was so nice to see me smile when I showed them the basket that came from you guys.

I will always remember you for the warm thoughts.
    Love you all,
    Fred
I am so glad I delivered it. It was so great to finally meet you. You are so handsome and so much younger than your photos....When i kissed you hello I felt like we have known each other all our lives. That is what it is all about if you grew up where we did. Everyone feels like family.
It was a pleasure meeting you and I am truly sorry this basket was so late. It should have been to you a month ago. That is me, LAST MINUTE TERRY!!! I am like Scarlett Ohara from Gone With The Wind......I"ll worry about it tomorrow..lol

    Hi Terry : :D
It was a pleasure to meet you & yes it was as if we knew each other all our lives even though I am much older then you.
You made feel so happy,a lot of the people here nurses & aids asked who sent you that beautiful basket I told them my Friends from my old neighborhood & then I explained about the internet, one of the nurses at the front desk said she saw the lady who brought it and wanted to know if you were a model, LOL I said yes & I am her agent.
When my Wife & Daughter saw it we cut up the pineapple it was very sweet. Most of other goodies I put away until next week's super bowl game i'll share them with some of the other people here that are not so fortunate to have Family & Friends to come and visit them
My Daughter will order some pizza pies & soda to hand out.
**PS** there were no lips in the basket but there was a "Mr. Stache"

You will overcome this fine....You know just looking at your handsome face I forgot all about your leg. You will do fine....Mike's co worker years ago. His son lost both legs on the ferry and what spirit he had. You will do great.
i had a friend years ago that lost her leg at a young age and I always remember her telling me this story and it makes me laugh.
She ws in a bar many years after she got her new leg. Before she was marrried and going out to the bars.
She waas at the bar drinking and this guy sat next to her and said boy oh boy u drink like u have a wooden leg..She jumped and said i do and rolled her pants up. I think he fell off the bar stool. lol

    Anothe story is..
When I was about 17 Chuckie Devito from the neighborhood's fahter was at the beach with us. He went out into the ocean to swim and starting yelling help, help a shark bit my leg off and he was holding a leg in his hand. I started screamng and crying. (I did not know he had an artificial leg) Everyone was laughing because they all knew....friggin friends I have and my cuz Carol Milele that was her boyfriend at the time..(chucky) ok see ya later. keep the faith fred
