People thing park slope is some kind of utopian wonderland where a women can give a bum a bag of M and M's and an orangina in front of her kids and feel like Bono. Well the truth of the matter is this is brooklyn and the bums are sophisticated and know that park slope is full of idiot saps who will give away money to cover up the guilt of that abortion they had in college.
Huh???
Sure some people might be covering liberal guilt or some people don't know how to help and some people see this guy every day and it was hot and she bought him a drink. Big deal! Haven't you ever bought a drink for someone? A beer at a bar? Or are you afraid that would be covering up the guilt of that date rape back in college??? Please. I know the weather is awful but relax a little.
Also I don't think we call them "beggers" or "bums" in this country. -

Sounds like somebody doesn't get out of Park Slope too often.
Or make that Kensington, I guess. -

Subject: Facetious
I am being facetious.
My point is the "bums" and "beggars" which they are in Park slope are not needy people. The man on Berkeley and 7th Avenue is an eloquent, charismatic, able bodied, adult however he chooses to make a living by begging.
You being the "sheep" tell me I have never bought a drink for anyone and that anytime I see a grown man begging I should buy him a fucking Snapple. I have bought plenty of drinks for people they are called my friends. Why would I buy a drink for a grown ass man who doesn't want to work for a living. I betcha if we compare notes I have done more for the poor and the indigent than 90% of the people posting here it is inherent in my line of work.
I find it funny people take my obviously ridiculous comments comparing the park slope beggars to wild bears as comparable to the final solution. I find that insulting as a Jewish man in 2006.
As for the date rape comment I guess I earned that buy taking a swipe at abortions. Everyone knows if you even talk about abortions in Brooklyn you will be crucified and eviscerated. -

AMEN Brother. These are ABLE BODIED MEN that CHOOSE NOT TO WORK AND LEECH OFF SOCIETY. Why? Because mothbreathing retards give them money, so why should they work? STOP GIVING THEM MONEY AND MAYBE THEY WILL GO AND EARN IT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. -
There are few better ways to out yourself as a moron than to give a panhandler money. We are keeping notes....

Hey! I may be a retard, but I breathe air, not moths! -

:?: Really? By which side? -
frankly, i think you guys should feel a tad lucky to live someplace where there are so few panhandlers (and that guy on 7th is actually very friendly and never obnoxious).
those of us in south slope, near the armory--you know the street where they just built million dollar condos--have to deal with the women from the shelter and their boyfriends, all begging for $$ and being rather menacing and rattling through our trash for cans. i'll take the guy on 7th over them any day.
Howdy, Stranger!
