Antibiotic-Free Chicken Parts — Brooklynian

Antibiotic-Free Chicken Parts

apophis36
edited November -1 in Park Slope
I'm looking to make wings for Sunday, and one of my guests is somewhat paranoid about additives, etc. that are a part of modern chicken manufacturing...

Does anyone know of some place local to North Slope / Prospect Heights that sells antibiotic-free wing parts?

  • not sure, but sounds like something Back to the Land might carry
  • Much as I tried to keep it down, this was all that came to mind.

  • C-Town sells Murray's chicken and you can get packages of wings.
  • Empire Kosher chickens!
  • Or you could just advise your friend that may be football isn't the sport for them. Perhaps they'd be more comfortable taking in cricket match or something of that nature.
  • I say you uninvite them.
  • Well I see Flexi's point.

Anyone who WANTS to watch foot ball should eat very not good for you, fried, heavily spiced chicken wings~

    Fly on!

  • Oh Flexi.. I fear you really are a Super Bowl Devotee!

    Love ya..
    But do not come here.

I do not own a television.

    I kid you not!

Is the Superbowl live on the internet?

  • ^ Ha. I don't care about the Super Bowl, but I do have an enormous TV :-)

    <---is all about the food.
  • see Flexi we should be better friends
Even when we analyze it we we are still connected.

I got the food interest (and perhaps you share) but bottom line... u have that big TV.

    Be right over!

One of these days I'm going to ring your doorbell.

In the meantime, please bring (red) wine :D/
  • I never drink white wine.... ever!

And (seriously) I hope you do ring the doorbell!

When Spring hits we can sit on the porch or in the back garden.

and for goodness sakes.. lets both go to sleep.

When Brooklynian is happening in "real time" I truly think I hang around here tooooo much.
    Goodnite alll
  • My vet tells me that chicken growing facilities in the US are rife with salmonella, so if you're going to get antibiotic free chicken make sure you cook it thoroughly.
  • and here i was planning to serve chicken tartare.

second the murray's suggestion. it's widely available -- i know the met on vandy always has it, but i'm sure the regular markets in PS will, too. not that pricey, either.

Its at their place...I'm making the food, so it would be a little awkward...Honestly, I think their kids are below-average size because they aren't getting enough animal growth hormones...

I ended up doing Fresh Direct..They still have delivery slots on Saturday, though amazingly enough, they are out of Franks Red Hot...The local places all have that though...

Hopefully, the game will be as good as the commercials...
  • they only care about the antibiotics, not all of other disgusting things associated with chicken-farming in the united states? I am making "wings" using seitan because at least then i know i'm not consuming feces-filled-water that was injected into my food.
