paranoid much? honestly if you take the basic precautions, and avoid sites that try to show you midget-donkey porn, and don't pirate software...you're in the clear.

besides, i wouldn't be a stranger, i'd meet up to give the person cash. i've lived here for about nine years in the neighborhood and i'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

actually you cannot get a virus this way any more easily than you might get one using your own Internet connection.

The real danger is that a savvy owner or administrator of the wireless network you're using can easily see every bit of data you send and receive that is not encrypted. This often includes things like your email account credentials which can then be used to launch further identity theft attacks.

The interloper can see the instant messages you send, your logins to many web sites, etc. It is very easily done.
