HAVE A GOOD DAY....SEE YOU LATER
  • Hi guys- Suzy sends her thanks for all your kind birthday wishes. It made me proud to show this Delaware girl how great our South Brooklyn crew really is even though she already knew it from living on 22nd street for 3 years.

I did get my shot yesterday. Thanks for asking. The doctor hit the nerve 4 times with the needle which was painful and caused my leg to jump. I'm pretty sore today but he said that will pass in a few days. They want to do another one in 3 weeks but we'll see. I am not convinced yet.

Helen-Glad to hear that Peter is doing better. Now we will send out prayers for your mom, sister & her kids.

Sometimes I wish it was Reunion Day everyday.
  • Hello All,
Happy Valentines day (actually tomorrow) to all you lovely ladies. I ordered and received a vase full of 20 beautiful Tulips for my wife. She is quite happy with them & her card. Sorry guys, if you didn' get anything for your sweetheart but I am an old sentlementalist (SP) and try to remember all occasions. Your kids can really fool you. Years ago before we got an empty nest, I used to buy each one of my children, boys & girl, one of those little Whitman Sampler boxes of candy for Valentines day. I think they cost a buck back then. I never thought the "kids" would remember that but a couple of years ago my daughter, who is in her 40's and has her own brood said to me "you know Dad I really miss that little box of Chcolates
you used to buy us for Valentines day". You never know! :geek:
  • Good Morning All,

Fred - Thank you so much, but unfortunately two of her sisters already had the transplant, so I am sure she knows what she is in for. But I will be speaking with her today, if she has any other questions, I will tell her you can help her. Thank you so much for your concern. I was so happy to hear the good news. Boy you are a fighter, I guess that is the only way to overcome something like this. Hopefully at the next reunion, we can all see you WALK in and that would be a amazing....

Danny - Happy Belated birthday to your wife Suzy.....hope she had a great day.

Helen - Good news about Peter....another fighter.

Well have to go food shopping...peek back later.

Everyone enjoy this Valentine's Day weekend.....
  • GOOD MORNING, WARREN..

  • HEY, DANNY!!!

GLAD YOU STAYED FOR YOUR SHOT.. (I GUESS THEY TOOK YOU
    BEFORE 12:30.).

    HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER, SOON..:)
    HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND..!!! :)
  • Hi Warren - You are one special husband.....and I too still buy my "kids", 27, 25 and 20 a box of candy and a card. I buy them a little something for every occassion and like you said I think they appreciate it. I told this story before, but to this day I still hide the Easter eggs for my kids. LOL and a couple of years ago, I don't remember what was going on, but I FORGOT to hide them, my kids woke up and could not believe that I forgot to hide them... I put money in them, so I am sure that is a big factor is being disappointed. So I made them go back upstairs and I had to hide the eggs for them. LOL LOL

    Joe - Great pictures.

Danny - Hope the shot works...feel better soon.

Ok have to pay some bills then off the shoprite.....
  • Speaking of the Olympics---Not my cup of tea. I bought a DVD set of all the "Victory at Sea" episodes so I would have something else to watch the next couple of weeks. Between Victory at Sea and re-runs of House & NCIS I should make it through. Sorry. I am an avid sports fan but the Olympics just do not cut it for me. The most interesting part is the closing ceremony as far as I am concerned! I love Football, Baseball, Tennis, and Golf (only when Tiger is playing). Can't wait for baseball to start. I root for the NY teams. Years ago I was an avid Brooklyn Dodger fan. Can still tell you each players number from the 40's into the 50's. Then that stinking bum O'Malley took them to La,La, land. I would like to visit his grave sometime and share a 6pack with him. After I drink it!!!! :x
  • JOEBROOXX..LOVE THE WINTER PIX...IT MAKES ME WANT TO

    Goodmorning Everybody.....

Warren ...thank you for taking me back in time when I was a little kid
but able to walk on 5th ave with my girlfriends

Every Feb 14th. me and a few g/f's would sit on the step of the
Fish Market between 16st & Prospect Ave and keep an eye on
Hallmark Card store across the street on the corner of 16st!
We would sneak up on my Dad when he was inside the
Card Store and tell him which chocolate heart candy I wanted.
When he got home .....and handed us all the chocolate.....
it was always those little heart ones for me, my brother and sister
and the one I picked with all the Lace went to my Mom.......
which made me happy.....just seeing her look at it!

    Thanks for taking me back......

Judy last year was the 1st year I stopped hiding the Easter Eggs
and it just didnt feel like Easter......so Im doing it again.....LOL
  • Terry ....I can still see Carl counting the penny/nickel candies in my hand
we were there every day at lunchtime......give my love to Carl also!
  • I miss those Valentine Days when we did not have a care in the world...Did not even have to worry about eating the box of candy LOL
  • Suzie wrote: Terry ....I can still see Carl counting the penny/nickel candies in my hand

Joe thanks for showing pics that Ive walked many times
since moving here 16yrs ago........Nicole played in that playground
    and now my Grandchildren.

I used to walk the bay every morning after coming home from work
just to tire me out so I can fall asleep in the morning!

    Thanks again .....
  • Hi again, can't seem to get myself started today..LOL

The best was making the valentine's hearts in school, remember with the white lace made out of paper, that always reminds me of Valentine's day.
  • Judy Yes.....red construction paper with the white doilies (sp)

I also remember the day before Valentine's Day ...My Dad would
hang out a little longer in Charlie Brown's Pub after work and knowing
the next day when he gave my Mom the Heart ....she would forgive him
LOL....he would say give me a little kiss Helen....and all was forgiven!

I better stop ...Im getting sentimental!

Helen ....I have your Sister and her Family on the Prayer List already
not sure if its the same one......give me their names so we send
the Prayers in the right direction ....if Im gonna do this it might as
    well be right! (wink)

Extra Prayers that your Mom will be fine!

Danny ...Im so glad you got your shot ....I really hope it starts
