Well since I'm in lazy bastid mode, it being summer and all, I'd sort of prefer it to going all the way to PH (I know, it's soooo far). Is the first question going to be "Are you an "on the roof" person?"
what say youse?
next week? or the week after?
speak. people. speak! -
i like alcohol
i have no friends
i live in park slope
I'm in! -

^hahah you know it
seriously though, I just moved here and there seems to be not a whole lot of early 20s people in this neighborhood (aside from the tea lounge which was way too hip for my taste) so I'm having trouble meeting people without kids/small dogs, etc. although I love the area

i hear ya. it's a great neighborhood but I feel a bit TOO young also being in the early 20s...nearly everyone our age moves to Manhattan (fools!!). -
all you 20 somethings should come then
make the park slope happy hour a younger more chic edition
of the prospect heights hh :P
only question is where...
01. Timboo's
02. Great Lakes
03. Loki
04. The Gate
05. Cherry Tree
06. Farmer's Market
07. Lucky 13
08. Bar 4
09. Buttermilk
10. Royale {favorite}
? -
Hey, I may be "older", but I'm still plenty chic!
-
all you 20 somethings should come then
how traitorous that would be of me, being a Prospect Heights resident!!

I'd go for Royale (well, I'll settle for anything the masses dictate, but that would be my pick). Of course there's always Perch where (assuming we do this on a night when she's working) we can all troop up to the reportedly-delightful Meredith and claim our free beverages!

good point! Meredith owes us some free drinks doesn't she?
hmmmm. meredith. wooooo-hooooooooooo!!!!!!! :P -
Guys- why don't you come to the Prospect Heights Happy Hour on Thursday amd then have the Park Slope Happy Hour the following week? Then we PHers can infiltrate your event too!
-
I would be able to do it tuesday or thursday, but I think we should have ours on tuesdays and let the PH'ers have theirs on thursdays. That way the alcoholic and friendless among us will have two options. So, tuesday!

what about Commonwealth's?
in my opinion, the best bar in the Slope -
Steve's plan makes sense.
I'm gonna have to play it by ear - this coming week is much better than the following week.
As for where - please....NOT at The Gate. I don't even know where Farmer's Market or Cherry Tree are -
ok. Commonwealth will be included in the bar options
first we need to get a sense for what date works best for everyone
i gotta agree with carnivore. since prospect heights is having their hh
this coming thursday. the Park Slope hh should be the week after.
that thursday would be 7/20 -

this coming week is bad for me -- week after is better
tuesdays are not good nights for getting people to come out -
I'm more likely to go on a Tues. Then again, I prefer to be "different" ;-)

dudes, I fucking HATE Commonwealth. talk about zero personality in a bar. ugh.

I disagree with you about tuesdays, I think people tend to take it easy sunday and monday and come tuesday they're ready to blow some steam off. Really, most people have so much going on that, either day is equally valid in NY.
In any case, we seem to be having a real nightmare of a time putting these together. I think we should just do something this tuesday if a few people can, and then see what we see from there on in. Also, those of us that like baseball can watch a bit of the all star game if we want. -

I couldn't agree with you more, but I was at Cherry Tree last night and that was like being on the UES, even worse. There is a new bar on just off flatbush I was at which was fantastic, I want to say it was called Flatbush Gardens, maybe near 7th? -

Flatbush Farm - near the old Bistro St. Mark's, no? I want to check that joint out - I think the PH happy hour was thinking of meeting up there. -
Yes, i saw that just now. That's the place.

yep. it's called Flatbush Farm{not farmer's market as i had erroneously written}
and they are open
also opening up tomorrow -- finally. is Union Hall
on Union + 5th ave. right next to the gym
it looks pretty sweet inside
it's got a lot of room and couches and bookshelves
opening night party is tonight -

Come on - you don't have to be so coy with us - how do you really feel about the place? -

I'm for this or Steve's suggestion. Wouldn't be the worst thing to get some crossover going on. Also, whenever we do the PS one (following thursday would be best for me personally), I vote for the Perch. That thread has worn me down, and now I must try it!

But will the barkeep be wearing a tight shirt?!
