overcharging at key food — Brooklynian

overcharging at key food

i realize that most folks don't need to be reminded to make-sure they're being charged the correct amount for items at the key food on 7th avenue, but 3-times within the past couple weeks, while i was at the check-out (both the human and computer versions), i realized that the price i was being charged was higher than what was posted on the shelf. Granted, once i pointed-out the problem (and they checked to comfirm that i was right), i got my money back. but who needs the hassle?

  • Not surprising. I don't shop there anymore but when I did, I'd be surprised when stuff that was on special came out right on the bill. Get thee to Fairway! - everything is incredibly fresh, prices are fair, and it seems they are running a lot more specials these days. Great produce, deli, butcher counter, olive oil, coffees, and much more!
  • I only shop at 5th Avenue Key Food
  • i check the price at all supermarkets, the pathmark in gowanus is worse. always wrong.
  • I always check my receipts but Steve's has never been wrong.
  • Also check the expiration date on the meat. ... Especially when it is remarked as a "Managers Special". [-X :pukel: :pukel:
