Valentine's Day Ideas...
Subject: Valentine's Day Ideas...
One of the least romantic days of the year is Valentine's Day. The majority of men act like robots, purchasing flowers and chocolate for their sweethearts because that is what everyone else is doing. Many people celebrate the day out of obligation rather than celebration.Last year we were lucky enough to spend a romantic weekend in Florida. Now, newly engaged and back in the honeymoon phase, we're banging our heads against the wall trying to figure out something new exciting.....
What are your plans.......

nothing says romance like a manufactured holiday via candy/card/jewelry/flower industry.

I'm neither a bitter single gal nor a bored married woman. It's like any other evening, except we try and up the bar one small bit. He makes his signature meal and we try to go somewhere that we love for entertainment or maybe we just enjoy a nice Sunday like I hope everyone else does. I don't see VD day as a forced celebration. You are in to it or not, seems like you're not, from your first sentence, but then your asking ways to be celebrate it?

wow. Are you implying all singles are bitter and/or all marrieds are bored? -
^^ Hell no!! Those are stereotypes that often get tossed around EXACTLY why I mentioned it. There are other types out there.
I was being specific and clear. Many couples and singles don't stress about these things at all. Most of my close friends (single or married), including me, Only realize it's going to be VD day on the actual day!
I'm with Armchair on this one!
enjoy it or not, it's not a real holiday or anything. No need to hate or love it. -
^ha. I guess it wasn't clear to me.
I have a VD date with my girls tomorrow (and maybe a boy or two will be allowed). -
I'm making a nice dinner for Mrs. C at home.
I do miss alafairnadia's anti-Valentine's Day parties though. -
I deviate somewhat from being a robotic male by buying chocolate-covered cherries but then eating them myself on the way home from the store. As long as I wipe my mouth and hands before I get home there is no evidence of my act.

Will there be pork? because nothing says "I love you" like pork. :pig: -

Actually, the main course will be veal chops with oyster mushrooms. It will be served with spinach and fingerling potatoes. The first course will be asparagus, and dessert will be cherry pie. I still have to figure out the wine. -
^nice!

Foods great and all but nothing says "I enjoy you" like copious amounts of sex, as any Sunday should have.

So, jesse- what did you end up doing? Hubby and I spent an amazing food-filled 3 day weekend in Montreal. Highly recommend although it was cold as hell this time of year.

Argh! No! I had our concierge call and everything! Frustrating... but we did get to Lemeac and Laloux. LOVED Laloux- just an amazing meal...Lemeac...not so much. Also, we had brunch at L'avenue- very cool spot and the food was fantastic!
Thanks so much for the list you sent me- we pretty much just went by that and were not disappointed. -
Never too late for the small things, so...
