Looking for a vet with sight hound experience

I recently adopted a whippet and am looking for a vet. I've been reading the various reviews on yelp, google and other sites of vets in the slope and it seems opinions vary widely. Most seem to get a mix of one and five stars and rarely anything in between. So, I'm hoping that finding a vet with sight hound experience will help me make the decision.

Anyone know of a vet who understands the particular needs of sight hounds - more red blood cells that can make some vets order more tests even when everything is OK, abnormal heart rate that some think is a murmur when it's not and low body fat that can affect anesthesia.

Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide!

  • Adam Borut is a vet at Hope Vet. He owns a rescue greyhound who is 8 years old. So he definitely has personal experience caring for a sight hound. We've taken our dog to Hope for about 4 years.
