Verizon vs Time Warner Cable

I think NY1 is only on TWC. There was some speculation that analog broadcasting took up most of cable's bandwidth, so now that analog has been officially discarded you might see some changes in cable.
So it might be time to sit on the fence and see what happens.
In terms of service both TWC and Verizon have seemed to screw the customer: they offer packages with more than what you want so you end up paying for a lot of junk you don't need. -
which is cheaper?
if you want wireless/internet/phone--does anyone know?
i'm currently being screwed by verizon. -
Subject: get rid of cable
depending on what type of cable tv watcher you are, this may or may not interest you:
using only an internet connection you can use your computer to watch a lot of shows on tv. you may not be able to watch stuff live, but if you're like me you'll notice that you end up seeking out shows, subjects, and topics that you might not normally have if you were just channel surfing waiting until the first remotely decent thing to watch happened to be on cable tv.
using a program such as Plex, you're able to access content on Hulu, Netflix (if you have an account), PBS, NBC, MSNBC, NY Times, etc by using your internet connection + your computer.
I'm not well-versed enough to go into more detail but just Google Plex and you'll see if it's right for you or not. I'm so glad that I got rid of cable (mainly because I was tired of the cable company's incompetence and for paying for stuff that I barely used/watched). Sure you may need the cable company to provide internet service, but it's much cheaper to only have to subscribe to internet service.
