A fireworks display will round out the evening. The concert will feature a state-of-the-art sound system with a wireless broadcast network and as many as 24 15-foot speaker towers.

everything goes well with cava.:lol::lol:
  • Everyone should come to this. It's really great--not like in Manhattan where there are so many people you can neither breathe nor hear the music. I don't know the first piece, but the second two are marvelous!
  • i will be there, late of course!
  • too bad i'm leaving for lake george that day :(. i would love to do something like this. damn it!

I tend to agree - we've been drinking it regularly, thanks to the likes of you! :x :x :x Oh, wait - :D:D:D
  • I'm a big fan, I'll be there, but seeing as I just realized this was happening, I have no plans. Shall we do a group thing?
  • Anyone know what's the best park entrance to use for this event? I'm guessing it's 15th street / PPW. But maybe PPSW 10/11th Aves is better?
  • alright. well.
    hmmm....
we can decide to meet at circles at 7:30
  • I'm fine with that, but didn't someone on the boards say Circles was history?

well. whatever their new name is
that place to the left of the pavillion
that makes the most godawful vodka tonics.

circles by any other name is still a diner
  • Calling it a diner is a compliment. It's called Park House now.
  • who's in for tuesday night?
  • i'm absolutely in for tuesday night. how many of us does that make?
  • brooklynpotter wrote: i'm absolutely in for tuesday night. how many of us does that make?
    that would be
    1. steve
    2. brooklynpotter
    3. carmen
    4. alafairnadia
    5. emilym
    6. quijibo
  • I'm tentative, leave me as a ? for the moment.
  • I'll be with EmilyM - we're coming from the PH side of the universe and since I've never been in PP, I expect her to lead me appropriately. I will have my cell phone and I've sent the # to a few of you. and Q knows who I am ....
    so yeah, see y'all there.

prospect park is HUGe, and the park gets awful crowded for these concerts
so i figure it's best to meet at a coordinated spot before entering the park

steve and i are meeting at the former Circles pub @ 7:30 pm
that's just left of the Pavilion theater
and we're gonna walk hand-in-hand into the park from there
    don't get jealous alyssa

steve and i will give you a call around 7.30 or so
to figure out where you guys are
i could probably just use my nose to ferret out the pernil sandwiches :D
    you're gonna share right

Sounds like somebody needs to spend less time posting here and more time in the great outdoors! Make sure you give yourself a few extra minutes to enjoy the scenery, and ask EmilyM to walk you through one of the two tunnels that bring you from GAP into the Long Meadow (the one to the right, closer to PPW, is my favorite). They were designed to give you this fabulous, knock-your-socks-off "Ohmygawd I'm not in Brooklyn any more" sense of open space (it usually works - try it).

Q, for the last time, we are not going on a chick date, so stop asking!

yeah. I don't think it's the time I spend posting here that cuts into my PP time. I lived pretty close to central park for years and only went a few times. nature scares me. plus, have you seen the freaks that hang out in parks?

word. I'll pick up more food than I can possibly eat in order to force you to consume some of it. how about that?

Hey, I resemble that remark!
  • is someone else wants to buy me food i am not complaining.

will be front of the former circles at 7:30; can't miss the giant mass of red hair
  • I have plenty of red wine handy if someone else wants to take care of food. Also, I have a ton of dixie cups. Classy!

oh man. your pernil is mine! :P

yikes. are you a flasher or a freaky photo taker?

seriously, the last time I was in central park, I was sitting and reading a book during lunch. first some random 'jogger' - he was wearing y-front blue underwear as his shorts - jogged past me like 3 times and then finally stopped in front of me and asked "hey, want a flash?" and I said "no, go away" but his hands were creeping to ward the leg openings of his underwear so I bolted. then, as I was leaving the park, looking around for a cop, these two tourists came up to me and started gesturing with their camera. so I figured they wanted me to take their picture. no. one of them wanted me to sit on his lap. I fled back to my office and decided that nature was really scary and not just because of bugs and dirt and shit.
