Hey, a head's up- at about ten pm last night i was mugged on sterling between Underhill and Butler. It was a group of four teenagers, unarmed, black, one with a baseball cap. Clocked in the temple from behind and then a sort of a half-hearted kicking circle on the ground. No theft or injuries to report, they were looking for cash and cell phone. Be alert, and aware of any footsteps around you.

    That sucks. Sorry to hear it and glad you sound okay. Please consider reporting it. You were still assaulted and teenagers are doing this a lot in that area. If nothing else, it just keeps the police aware that this continues to happen.

    Can you provide more details about the group and their actions? Were they a silent group stalking you from behind, were they loud? Were they in a single group, did they ask for cash and cell phones? You said you were mugged yet you have no theft to report.

    im sorry to hear that happened to you. something has to be done with these teen gangs. i thought the police dept have a gang unit.

    it seems like this kind of activity has flared up a bit recently. or am i imagining things.

    and since it is getting warmer its not going to get better. i worry when my daughter goes out in our neighborhood. i live in the projects where these groups gather to gether and harass others. i ask her not to come here late at night or if she can stay over a friends house.

    Maybe so, or maybe we're posting about it more. I kinda hope it's the latter.
