New Supermarket on Fulton St — Brooklynian

New Supermarket on Fulton St

I was driving down Fulton St and noticed that there is a new supermarket open across from Family Dollar, where Conways used to be on Fulton St between Franklin Ave and Cla ver Pl. Anyone been to it? Looks nice from the outside.I think it is called Tradewise or something.

  • just stopped in. It is called Tradewise. very clean inside, big isles, lots of light, good looking produce compared to the key food further down. Unfortuantely similar/same stuff as other stores in the neighborhood: lots of sugary soda and entemanns, little/no organic, probably less vegetarian/vegan offerings - no non dairy ice cream! actually it seemed like the frozen food section was small in general. but a really good local back up/when run out of something/exhausted right off the subway. for those who eat meat/dairy there is a rather large deli counter right when you walk in.
  • Well I stopped in today myself. I like the fact that the isles are wide as well. I also thought the fruit and veggies were a better selection than Met ,Pioneer,Associated and Key Food. The deli makes sandwiches although they advertised bbq chicken I didnt see any rotisserrie setup. They did have fresh rolls. The meat is also not as bad as the Met and the prices are better especially since they just opened.Unfortunatelyaside from known brands they feature products from Krasdale as opposed to the Met which features White Rose . Both suck.Nothing organic to be had.Again....a clean option until I can get to Shoprite.
  • i'll support anything that isn't that key foods a block down. i really hope that trade wise puts them out of business - they sell expired food and i have never bought anything from the frozen food section that hasn't been freezer burned on encased in ice! ugh!

i went to trade wise and it had nice big isles, clean and was an over all nice shopping experience. i do hope that they fill out their inventory - i can only assume that they will do that in time. for now, i think of it as a basic/general store - no specialty items or anything fancy/vegan/whole foods-like. good place to quickly grab ingredients for dinner though.
  • just nice to have an option.
  • did see some better stuff the second time- they are still adding in sections. to amend my first post: quite a few veggie options in the frozen section and a small amount of organic produce.
  • I went to check 'em out and was pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly and helpful and the organic fruit, veges and packaged products are not ridiculously overpriced. Meats ok too.... like the carts, cool and different.
