Did Helios close?

Helios looked empty from a distance when I walked by today and there was no answer when I called. Did they close? When did that happen?

Place is covered up and says closed for renovations. I liked that place, but for months the lights were really dim and there is no sign on the outside. Not a very smart business plan!

The place is done. Closed up, sign is gone.. it's done.

I live a couple blocks away and decided to give it a shot last Summer. Dropped by at prime time on a Friday night and there were 3 people chilling inside, chatting with the owners. walked up and asked for a table, and was glared at like I was crashing a party. We sat out front and ordered the grilled Haloumi cheese, which I'd always wanted to try and was a big reason why we went. They said they were out. We ordered a couple beers, got the check, and left.

What an unwelcoming place. Hope a decent bar opens there, with decent food.

Looks like a yoga studio is opening above helios. did anyone here catch the website for it? looks promising!

The new yoga place was featured today in Brooklyn Based. It's pay-by-donation, which sounds great! And it's a gorgeous space.

Hi everyone.

Helios was such an example of "what could have been." The pita sandwiches and burgers were quite good. What did this place in what its owner, who spent every waking hour just sitting there watching everyone and must have remodeled the place around three times over. If he would have stuck with what he did best, and allowed the place to breath on its own, I think he would have found success.

I also believe there were cooks there, in a dimly lit place, for a while because they continued to do delivery, even though they were not open for sit-down.

The point was that there is already a plan in the works for the space. I just don't want to give out details if the parties involved don't want it public yet. With the number of vacant storefronts in the neighborhood right now, the fact that there is a plan is news in itself, even if I can't tell you the details right now.

it's such a great spot and now that cubana cafe has opened across the street it creates some more foot traffic so i'll be curious to see what it is.

the new yoga place above it looks really nice.

Did Helios close?
