Good affordable hair cut

Hey all
So I'm looking for a good affordable haircut in South Slope. I basically need a trim, hence why I am not willing to shell out more then $50. Any recommendations? Also any recs for eyebrow waxing?

  • i like vespa salon in south slope for haircuts. eileen is great.
  • If you're willing to travel a little beyond South Slope, I HIGHLY recommend Joanne at Le Petit Chandelier (the sister salon to Chandelier on 5th). It's on 3rd Ave and Carroll St. They charge $43-50 for women's cuts, depending on the length of your hair. I think it's $43 for men. She's super talented and friendly. She managed to make my growing-out pixie cut look great and gave me a cut that has been growing out beautifully... not an easy feat. And she's amazing with color, if that's something you're interested in.
  • 43 is a lot for a men's haircut.

    it's 30 at vespa.
  • Try Joseph's on 7th Avenue right off of Union ( 3rd store from Union going South) Women's cuts are 30-50 and men's cuts ar 20-50
  • I love Danielle at Salon Harmony, on 7th between Flatbush and whatever the last block before Flatbush is. She charges about $45.
  • Parksloper, do an advanced search (button at the top rigth by the banner)
this topic already came up a couple months ago with many recs for you to look through. Plus other threads on haircuts in the past.

I like Chandelier on 5th ave as well.

Yes, I agree it's pretty steep for a dude. But it's quite the opposite for a lady.
  • For my money, the best value in a men's haircut in South Slope can be found at La Belle Unisex with Regina. Only $25 and she gives you the "Russian technique" (take your mind out of the gutter ... it's not that). Very sweet woman and she listens to what you want, but she will tell you when she thinks you're wrong. I also LOVE that she doesn't scold me when I wait too long between cuts and she has to work around the hack job I did trimming around my ears.

I found her through Yelp, where a lot of other people recommended her. I walked by the storefront all of the time and never would have thought to go in there before that, but I was tired of paying $45 for substandard haircuts and was looking for a better deal. Recommended.
  • What's wrong with the Park Slope Barber Shop? Why overpay?

I agree. The Dominican place on Washington is $11. $14 with tip.
